Welcome to the June issue of the Ackworth Arrow So far, so good! Things are looking up for us all to finally get back to something which resembles normality. It has been so nice to be able to sit inside a restaurant or enjoy a glass of wine with friends without worrying about how many layers you need. It’s great to see our fitness classes and gyms reopening and people getting back into a routine. Still got my fingers crossed we will be safe to reopen as usual from 21st June. Best of luck to all of our local pubs, cafes, wine bars and restaurants!

Who Are the Quakers?
We are the Religious Society of Friends; we place a high value on developing true friendships and quality relationships. We are a religious group, members of “Churches Together in Ackworth”, whose religion is rooted in Christianity. However, we have no creed and Quakers have a wide range of belief. We have no pastors or priests and learning about religious matters and developing faith is seen as a personal responsibility. Pastoral care is the responsibility of everyone. We worship in silence, broken only when someone feels moved to speak; this we call “ministry”. Our experience has led us to accepting what we call our testimonies: to peace, equality, simplicity and truth. From our testimony to simplicity, has grown a strong concern for the environment.
