Branton & Auckley Arrow

Page 1

As the days grow shorter and the crispness of autumn gives way to the chill of winter, this time of year always reminds me of how fortunate we are to live in such a wonderful community. It's a season that brings us together and we can all look ahead to the events that make our village so special.

November and December are months filled with tradition, festivity, and remembrance. Soon, our villages will be ablaze with red poppies, a poignant reminder of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in times of conflict. As we prepare for Remembrance Sunday and hold our moments of silence, we will remember them. It’s these acts of communal respect and gratitude that remind us of the shared values and history that bind us together.

You will find the November Arrow full of festive events from Christmas pantomimes to festive fayres, bustling markets to the heartwarming sound of carol singers. These events, running throughout November and December, offer something for everyone, and I am always amazed by the effort and passion that goes into organising them. They reflect the heart of our community spirit and the joy of gathering together.

The December issue deadline for adverts and content is Wednesday 13th November. The Arrow will be delivered by 1st December.

Best Wishes

Branton Litter Pick Group

The sun came out for the litter pick group on Saturday 28th September. The team of 14 volunteers met at 9.30am and collected around 25 bags of rubbish from in and around Branton. We welcomed one of our youngest members yet, Evelyn 6, who came along with her grand parents and did a fantastic job. Keep an eye out for the next litter pick dates, everyone is very welcome to attend. Huge thanks to Cantley with Branton PC for providing the equipment and collection of rubbish and all our fantastic volunteers.
