Welcome to the November issue of the
Branton & AuckLey Arrow Well it looks like we can’t avoid it any longer, Christmas is approaching and I have indulged in my first of many mince pies! For all of you parents out there—the race is on to make sure Father Christmas has his letter delivered safely and everything ticked off in time. Yorkshire Wildlife Park has a 25% discount off the standard ticket price for their winter illuminations as well as a great choice of Christmas gifts to suit all ages. We have many local Christmas fayres to look forward to as well as a pantomime at Kilham Hall, all the details can be found in this months Arrow. In the mean time, I hope everyone has a spooky Halloween and sparkly bonfire night. Keep safe and have fun. The December issue deadline for adverts and content is Wednesday 15th November. The Arrow will be delivered by 1st December.
Best wishes Michelle Sidebottom

Community News Jean Cheatham It is with great sadness that I share the news of the recent passing of Jean Cheatham. Jean has lived in Branton for most of her life and dedicated so much of her time to the church and wider community. Jean was an active member of the Branton coffee club up to last year when she retired at the age of 96! Jean was on the Kilham Hall Management Committee when the trust was first formed back in 2009. An incredibly kind and happy person, Jean was a pleasure to be around, always smiling and always offering her help when needed. Jean will be sadly missed by many people and we send our love and sincere condolences to her family at this difficult time.
Branton Coffee Club Branton coffee club raised a whopping £300 at their Macmillan coffee morning last month. Lots of people baked and donated cakes that were all sold on the day. Well done to everyone who contributed to this amazing charity.

September has been such an exciting month for Misson Primary School as our long awaited partnership with Misson Preschool finally became reality. Our local builders worked so hard all through the summer changing round the lower part of the school to accommodate Preschool who since opening in 1984 have always operated from the Community Centre. The amazingly talented staff and children both old and new now have their very own purpose-built facility which has been lovingly filled with all the amazing resources to help their children learn through play – they are especially making the most of the outside area, come rain or shine. The all weather area is proving a big hit – splashing in muddy puddles anyone?! This new partnership also means the children in Preschool are getting to spend time with the younger members of our school through joint play in the outdoor space – siblings in both settings are loving this opportunity. We can now also offer all preschool children a choice of two hot meals at lunch time which is proving very popular as the colder weather arrives. The move has been nothing but a success and we are so excited for the future as we now grow together as one.
