Old Rectory offers trips back in time An opportunity to travel back through 300 years of history will soon be available to a limited number of people. It will be when Epworth’s Old Rectory opens its doors to small parties being given guided tours of what was the childhood home of John and Charles Wesley. The candle-lit tours, with guides in period dress, will be taking place on Saturday and Sunday 5 th and 6th of December, starting at 7pm. “The tours will be something very special,” said Gill Crawley, Development Manager at the Old Rectory, which is a Grade 1 listed building, an Accredited Museum and a registered charity. Tickets for the tours cost £10 each and this includes light refreshments. It will consist of mince pies – made to an old recipe – and a non-alcoholic punch. The tickets are available on (01427) 872268. They can either be posted to a home address or collected on the night of one of the tours, which will be restricted to about 10 individuals.

CONTACT DETAILS for the team are:PC Dean SOUTHAM * email :dean.southam@humberside.pnn.police.uk PCSO Wendy FREAR* email :wendy.frear@humberside.pnn.police.uk PCSO Paul FEARON* email :paul.fearon@humberside.pnn.police.uk Neighbourhood Policing Priorities as agreed by the Neighbourhood Action Team Meeting which was held on Tuesday 15th September 2015 -Full details can be viewed on www.humberside.police.uk Ongoing Issues Market Place =Youths causing annoyance A number of individuals were highlighted as being responsible for unreasonable behaviour in and around the Market Place. The Local Neighbourhood Policing Team has attended a local secondary school in the area and offered advice regarding acceptable behaviour to pupils. Since this advice has been issued the number of calls for service has greatly reduced however the situation is still being monitored.

Eastoft Road, Luddington = Speeding Vehicles Certain registration numbers has been forwarded to the police and in conjunction with Safer Neighbourhoods warning letters have been sent to certain drivers regarding their manner of driving. This action has resulted in a reduction of speeding vehicles in this area. The area is still being monitored and the same course of action will be taken against offending drivers.

For a third successive year Dillon the donkey is scheduled to make a live appearance at the annual Carol Service of Crowle Methodist Chapel in Fieldside this Christmas. The big black beauty has proved extremely popular with local youngsters whilst being on his best behaviour inside the Chapel and he’s again expected to be the star attraction at the special ‘family friendly’ service which takes place at 2pm Sunday December 20. The service will be led for the first time by the Rev Paul Braisdell who recently took over as Minister at Crowle, Belton and Ealand Churches. Dillon is owned by Mrs Susan Owen from Haxey who reports her 18 year old pet to be in good shape again following a minor setback earlier in the year and she is looking forward to leading him into church again. Everyone is welcome to join in the singing and complimentary refreshments including mince pies will be served afterwards.

Generation Park = The initial complaint in this area was drunken unruly behaviour by certain individuals. The area has been patrolled by local Police and it would seem that the problem is being addressed with very few calls for service. Poaching = Reports are still coming in regarding incidents of poaching not only on the North area of the Isle but in all areas. The Local Police are asking local farmers, residents etc to be extra vigilant in regards to this problem and to report immediately any such incident. If a crime is being committed please ring Humberside Police on 999 or if not urgent please use the 101 telephone line. As always our non-emergency number is 101, and in an emergency please dial 999, Regards from Dean, Wendy and Paul.

“This beautiful girl is Lily, a six year old Neapolitan Mastiff Cross who is looking for her new home. Lily is just a big softie – so friendly and affectionate, and loves her belly-rubs! Lily is a big girl, so experience of large-breed dogs is preferred. She is not great with other dogs or cats, so would be best as an only pet. Older children only because of her size. Lily is neutered and fully vaccinated. If you are interested in meeting this gorgeous girl, please call Isle Rescue on 01427 728705.”
