Community News We would like to offer some crime prevention advice aimed at making it more difficult for criminals to target your vehicles. • Always double check your car is physically secure and alarmed • Keep keys out of sight inside your property • Consider a signal blocking pouch to keep your keys in • Use a steering wheel lock • Consider investing in a tracking device. It will significantly increase the chances of locating and recovering a vehicle if it is stolen • Check to see if you can switch off the wireless signal from your fob • Park your car as close to your property as possible or block it in • Check and make sure that no valuables are left in sight in the vehicle We take all reports of this nature seriously. If your vehicle is stolen, or you have information regarding a vehicle theft, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101, or speak with your local officers. Always call 999 in an emergency.

Halloween in a Covid Pandemic... Farmers are terrified this year’s Halloween could be cancelled due to the spread of Covid 19. A rise in cases has led to localised lockdowns – and many fear restrictions on movement will spoil a lucrative pumpkin picking season. Like most events and holidays that have taken place amid the COVID pandemic, Halloween is going to look a lot different this year. Obviously, kids trick or treat outside, which may make parents more inclined to let their children go door to door. Given the nature of the virus, parents are likely beginning to wonder what safety measures they should take this year. The most important thing is that families decide together what level of risk they're OK with this Halloween. For example, are you OK with people you don't know knocking on your door? You may not know 90 percent of the people that come to your door on a typical Halloween night! So it's thinking about things like that. What ever you decide to do, support your local farmer and buy a pumpkin; consider an organised local event or even stay at home for a family Halloween party.

Keep safe this Halloween... To advertise please call 01302 532676 or 07912 643010

Doncaster Ramblers Latest Guidance on Social Gatherings Ramblers organised walks have beeen confirmed as being exempt from the "rule of six" restrictions that are effective from 14 September, because they are categorised as 'outdoor physical activity events'. That being the case, Ramblers groups can continue to organise led walks for up to 30 people. In our Group, walks leaders are setting limits for each walk, depending on their assessment of risk. The maximum group size for each walk is shown in the description. However, given the current circumstances, it is more important than ever that these walks operate under specific guidelines in order to maintain health and safety standards. Further details of these guidelines are available on the main Ramblers website and anyone thinking of going on one of our walks is urged to read these. Places on walks must be booked in advance. Appropriate social distancing should be maintained along with other personal safety measures. If you would like to book a place, please contact the walk leader who will reserve a place for you. Once numbers have been reached, the website will indicate that the walk is full. Please

do not turn up if you have not booked a place as the leader will have to turn you away. If you wish to print off your own selection of walks you can do so by going to the Walks Pogramme tab and applying the various filters shown on the right of the walks list (day of the week, distance etc) and then press the print button at the bottom. Please bear in mind that the situation is constantly changing, therefore whatever you print may soon be out of date. Walk Co-ordinators are actively liaising with walk leaders to maintain a Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday programme and new walks are regularly being added to our website.
