Editor’s Letter...
The Autumn season has arrived officially however it feels like we have missed a season! Where was summer? Did anyone see it?? As the nights draw in and the heating goes on, we prepare ourselves for the new season’s events, the Harvest Festival, Halloween and Guy Fawkes Night. Maizie Maze have their ever popular Shriek week and Pumpkin Hunt running through the half term week at the end of October. If you are aware of any events taking place between November and December, please let me know, The Arrow is now distributed to 6000 homes in the Sprotbrough, Warmsworth, Barnburgh and Harlington areas. There is a notice in this month’s Arrow regarding industrial action effecting the Green bin collection over the next few weeks. All of Doncaster is affected, however there are some areas where the recycle boxes, blue and clear bags are affected also. The deadline for the November issue for advertising and articles is Wednesday 17th October. The Arrow will be delivered from Friday 26th October.
Best Wishes
Michelle Sidebottom

Bin & Recycling Collection Changes Due to Industrial Action Green bin collections Due to industrial action announced by UNITE members working for SITA UK, residents are advised that there will be no green bin collections in Doncaster from Friday 21st September until Monday 15th October. Green bin collections have been temporarily suspended so resources can be redirected to minimise disruptions to black bin collections during the period of industrial action. Household Waste Recycling Centres will remain open as usual and can be used by residents to dispose of their household and garden waste. Black bin collections Residents are being asked to put their black bins out on their usual collection day, during their usual black bin collection weeks only. Green box collections Green box collections for the majority of the borough will remain unaffected by the action. However, households which usually have collections on a Monday or a Friday will see this recycling service reduced to every other week until Friday 12th of October. Residents living in Bentley, Denaby, Denaby Main, Intake, Mexborough, Old Denaby, Wadworth and Warmsworth who usually have their collection on a Friday should only put out their green box, blue bag and clear bag on Friday 28th September and Friday 12 October. Residents living in Balby, Burghwallis, Campsall, Skellow, Sprotbrough and Tickhill who usually have their collection on a Monday should only put out their green box, blue bag and clear bag on Monday 1st October. All waste and recycling services should return to normal on Monday 15th October. Clinical waste services and business waste and business recycling services will be unaffected by the action. Information about any latest developments are available via www.doncaster.gov.uk/recycle Council’s Customer Contact Centre 01302 736000.

A new identity. The same community. The new name for Doncaster College for the Deaf. The college, formerly known as Doncaster College for the Deaf has changed its name to reflect the diverse range of learners it attracts from across the region.
