Welcome to the March issue of the February was not the best month to start running outside, however, if you managed any exercise out side, well done. Once you get going its not bad really but it takes everything to get you motivated to brave the weather in store! As Steve Cram once said, ‘the hardest thing about running is putting your trainers on’, certainly true for me last month! As you will all know, Mother’s Day is just around the corner and this month’s issue has just what you need... Ackworth Flowers! As well as dates throughout the year for flower arranging workshops, Ackworth Flowers offers a range of gifts from the expected beautiful flower arrangements to candles and trinklets. Call in and speak to one of the Debbies’, I am sure they will be able to help you find that special something. The Walton Arrow is delivered every other month, if you have any stories you would like to share, fundraising you would like to promote or your own business you would like to advertise, please contact me on the details below.

The deadline for the April issue of the Sandal Arrow for advertising and articles is Wednesday 25th March.

Best Wishes

ACKWORTH FLOWERS Debbie Harrod the Owner of Ackworth Flowers has seen the business grow and flourish over the past two years and believes the Arrow, which goes into over 3000 local homes, has assisted in publicising her shop and all she has to offer.

‘Advertising in the Arrow has proved very successful’ says local businesswoman Debbie Harrod

The shop is a virtual treasure house of delights offering a wide variety of homeware and gifts, supplying the extra individual items to support and enhance the floral tributes they create. The variety of homeware on sale would complement any house, whatever the decor or style. Fresh flowers are delivered 3 times a week, direct from Holland. The shop has a purpose built, airconditioned, temperature controlled flower store and preparation room to ensure flowers are kept as fresh as possible. Debbie Harrod and her shop manager Debbie Braidley have, between them, almost 50 years of experience and produce a wide range of spectacular floral decorations, bouquets, wreaths etc to suit every taste and pocket. Debbie is currently awaiting a delivery of new stock to replenish her shop after a very successful Valentine’s Day weekend. Her excellent gift assortment will be available for Mother’s Day and many of her floral tributes will, this year, have a Vintage theme. This month, once again Debbie will be hosting a flower demonstration at The Kings Croft Hotel Pontefract. Tickets £17.50 including a hot buffet, proceeds towards Dr. Jackson’s Cancer Trust. Debbie has her own web site and delivers flowers locally and nationally through the e-florist network. She gives talks and demonstrations to local ladies’ groups. She will also be running flower workshops throughout the year, to be held at the Ramsden Hall in Thorpe Audlin. For further details and information consult the web site, call in at the shop on the Wakefield Rd. or ring 01977 619944.
