JOE A. OAKES
"FOOTHILLS PORTRAIT" Joe A. Oakes Acrylic on Canvas 101.6cm x 76.2cm 2021 Joe A. Oakes was born in Chicago, Illinois in 1964. Having grown up in the city’s surrounding suburbs, his love of mountains and other natural scenes grew mostly from his own imaginaton. This interest was cultvated throughout his school years and further developed when he received his Bachelors Degree in Fine Art. After completng his degree, Joe went right to work as a graphic designer, taking a break from his personal artstc endeavours. Soon he began paintng again, creatng small pieces in pastel before moving on to acrylic on canvas. But always working on his favourite subject, the landscape.
“Each paintng is an emotonal response to colour ... real or imagined but always felt. I choose to express those feelings through the use of bold, vibrant highlights and shadows of violet hues. My work is about the joy that colour can bring into our lives. My aim is to promote an awareness of nature, especially its infnite use of colour.” Joe A. Oakes

"Through the extractng and the reinforcing from nature, I reintegrated the image that I saw and painted it." Frank TS Tan

PETE CONROY
GATHERING STATIC Pete Conroy Oil on Canvas 30cm x 22.5cm / 11.8 inches x 8.9 inches 2022 “I enjoy blurring the lines between classical paintng and illustraton. Before I paint i abstract my image as much as I can during the drawing stage, then I try to bring the paintng back to reality with paint. Sometmes it remains too ‘cartoonish’ and sometmes it’s too ‘real’. I fnd the perfect paintng lies when it straddles both the real and illustratve genres.” Pete Conroy
Pete Conroy creates portraits with a diference. He likes to paint people in a way that there is as much interest in the way it was painted, as interest in the model his/herself. He some exaggerates peoples features onto the canvas, then applies paint atemptng to bring them back to reality. Sometmes the images remain too cartoony, sometmes he bring them back too far and they are too realistc. But sometmes they have one foot in each category a classically painted portrait with a twist of something else. When his work has a foot in each of these two realms is when it has become a success.

FEDERICO CORTESE
“SERENDIPITY” Federico Cortese Oil on Canvas 70cm x 50cm / 27.6 inches x 19.7 inches 2020
“Imaginary portrait of a boy foatng on the water. The uncertainty of the image induces the viewer to think about a boy swimming in the sea as well as about a memory from a dream, where the base concept is the fusion among the subject and the environment, a deep unity between things, where boundaries disappear.” - Federico Cortese
“Since I can remember I have always drawn. My preferred techniques are classic oil on canvas paintngs, and pencil drawings. I’m like a mouse in its box. A litle mouse safe in its shelter, that passes his tme gnawing the food stored for the winter. But my food are the drawings. I work within my home. My studio is a room of the house in which I live. In this relatvely small space are accumulated all the materials and equipment I need to draw and paint, but in a certain sense also the suggestons that inspire my work. Here are the desks and drawing boards, with brushes and paint colours, but also, on the walls or placed in closets, paintngs and drawings (I think each fnished work is always an inspiraton for the next, in somehow).” Federico Cortese

MANIZHE SABET
"BAZAAR IN RED" Manizhe Sabet Oil on Canvas 75cm x 60cm 2020 “The Baazar is always full of colours, communicaton, people and a wide variety of supplies. All temptng for an artst to paint. I tried to simplify the things and explain everything with the language of forms and colours. The viewer is invited to a party with a mixture of food and joy. So it brings energy and happiness every where you hang it.” Manizhe Sabet
Having gained a MA Degree in Economics and Management, in the evenings, she studied oil paintng, watercolours and drawing. Her skills in maths and science helped: geometry, physics, and chemistry sharpened her understanding of such essentals as the interacton of light and shadow, refecton, perspectve, and colour. She enjoyed excellent teachers. Most were internatonally acclaimed artsts, such as Gholamhossein Saber in Shiraz; also Nami, Vakili, Mazloumipour, Ghafari, and Laleh Aramy in Tehran. Manizhe initally came to Canada to spend tme with her son and his family, but fell in love with the varied landscapes and people of so many diferent backgrounds people you wouldn't see standing next to each other anywhere else in the world. For her, every street in this country is an invitaton, an open studio, and an ideal opportunity to get instant feedback about her work.

VLADO VESSELINOV
"SONGS FROM A MOTEL" Vlado Vesselinov Oil, Acrylic on Canvas 62cm x 48cm X 3cm 2017 “ The work is inspired by long and full of essence, refecton, and spirit journeys. Stop for the night at a roadside motel and then again ... The songs are always an integral part of the trip, whether they sound from the car, the gas staton, the motel room they are always there. And each tells its own story.” Vlado Vesselinov
“My work is close to provocatve pop culture, refectng events with which I have a partcularly intmate relatonship. The characters in my art embody social stereotypes that are both humorous and socially critcal. A characteristc feature of my works is the clearly visible texture of the canvas and the well defned physical reliefs, reminiscent of pages that someone grabbed from a fashion magazine found on the ceiling. It is similar to the efect used by Quentn Tarantno in his productons, where flmed flms full of dirt and defects atract the audience in a unique atmosphere of a Drive in theatre. As for my colours, they are my weapon for victory over today's material and grey world. I also fnd inspiraton in the modern way of life, I try to explore its dynamics, everyday life, alienaton between people and lack of physical communicaton.” Vlado Vesselinov

LUSIE SCHELLENBERG
“SUNFLOWERS” Lusie Schellenberg Oil on Canvas 50cm x 40cm / 19.7 inches x 15.7 inches 2021 “I wanted to transfer a wonderful mood to the canvas, and choose the sunfower to represent that mood. The green tone was chosen as a symbol of life and fertlity and the Japanese hieroglyph says sunfower.” Lusie Schellenberg
“This is the music of my soul and my heart. I can’t imagine myself without drawing and paintng…I have been drawing and paintng since I can remember, and during that tme I have created several hundred artworks. I received my art educaton startng at the Academic Insttute of Paintng named after I. E. Repin at the Russian Academy of Arts in St. Petersburg. I have developed my own original creatve style that is recognisable to fellow artsts and art collectors. I prefer to use my own style in my work, which is unique. VYARA TICHKOVA
"SUNFLOWERS" Vyara Tichkova Oil on Canvas 81cm x 60cm 2021 "I get inspiraton from everything around me. It can be the words of a song, music, an emoton, a book, even a story from a friend. It's unpredictable what can touch my soul... I'm always amazed at how much abstracton exists in nature, in the simple things and in the elementary pictures of everyday life. My passion is travelling around the world, every new journey gives me a fresh opportunity to develop and change my vision and ideas. I see new cultures, learn curious stories and stand in front of amazing natural views, I see the achievements of man in everyone aspect. This takes my breath away and poses new challenges for me as an artst. I tend not to explain my artworks because I believe that works of art are the connecton between the artst and the viewer. It is another form of communicaton, another kind of language that does not need words ..." Vyara Tichkova
Vyara Tichkova qualifed from the Natonal Academy of Art in Sofa, Bulgaria with a Masters Degree in Scenography. Outside of her work as an artst, Vyara has worked for BMV Bulgaria, a German company, in the creaton of illustratons for 2D & 3D animatons for cartoon movies. KLOSKA OVIDIU
" K A F K I A N E T E R N I T Y W I T H F L O W E R S AT 7 P M " Kloska Ovidiu Acrylic on Canvas 80cm x 60cm / 31.5 inches x 23.6 inches 2021 This series of artworks refers to the metaphysical approach to space populated by a pot with fowers, a near seen like a secton of a personal temporal eternity, where the vegetatve elements are transfgured into the metaphysical, transcendent. Thus, at the limit fguraton, the immanence of the light becomes oniric refectons and transparent, the fower shape became sphere, within which persist the traces of the pass, of the wear, the cyclicity.
Kloska Ovidiu was born in the Neamt district, in a small town in the north east of Romania in 1977. In 2000 he graduated from the Technical University Gheorghe Asachi from Iasi, Romania, Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunicaton. Later in 2009, he graduated master classes at George Enescu Art University from Iasi, Faculty of Fine Arts with the project Urban Wear Oniric Interferences Object of Art. Kloska lives and works in Focsani, Vrancea, Romania. He is a member of the Romanian Union of Professional Artsts (UAP). My visual creatons relate with dreams, unconsciousness, delirium, hallucinaton, with the change of shape and light, with the spontaneous, illusion, abnormal and normal, bizarre and weird.

HELEN HOLLEMANS
"AGAINST ALL ODDS #3" Helen Hollemans Acrylic on Paper 100cm x 70cm / 39.4 inches x 27.6 inches 2022
“The compositon and constructon of my work takes inspiraton from many spheres of design as homage to my studies, though the core theme amongst artsts which inspire me seems to be those who are ground breakers; those who try to do something diferent, those who do not accept the norm. Fashion designers like Paul Poiret or Christan Dior, both in their way demanding change and a new directon. The simplicity and playful shapes of Rodchenko and luminescence of lavish fabrics depicted by Francois Boucher transfx me. Boucher grasps the viewer invitng them to lose themselves in the depths and complexites of the paintng and technical brilliance. The lightness and delicate technique are in stark contrast to Ansel Adams who so easily it seems elevates the natural landscape into fne art. A key driving force in the directon my art has taken has been the progression of osteoarthrits in my hands. My medium of choice had been ceramics untl I no longer had the strength in my hands to work the clay. Paintng was a transformatonal discovery for me, encouraged by my husband who secretly bought materials and an easel to help me explore alternatves. I needed to look no further, and expression through canvas or paper and paint has been the channel for my passion for several years.” Helen Hollemans

ROBERT BRADFORD
"FISSURE" Robert Bradford Acrylic and Recycled Drawings on Canvas 120cm x 160cm x 30cm / 47.2 inches x 63 inches 2022
Robert Bradford was born in London, England and has lived in various locatons around the UK, as well in France and the USA. For the last several years he has made a living primarily through his artwork. Robert has been represented by quality commercial galleries in Paris, London and New York, who have sold his work all over the world via exhibitons and art fairs. He has now returned to being an independent artst and is refocusing on paintng on canvas and painted collages. I am best known internatonally for my recycled toy sculptures, these works have been shown and collected in over 25 countries. I resumed paintng 3 years ago, frst using collage on paper, then fguratvely on large scale canvases. A year ago, seeking greater freedom of expression, I began paintng abstractly and collaging over the fguratve works fnding that this process greatly stmulated the abstract ideas. Hence the 'Trash Art Series', which is ongoing in 2022. I was trained in paintng at Ravensbourne College of Art, England and in flm making at The Royal College of Art London. I have lived and worked in many parts of England and France and California, U.S.A. Lectureships include Maidstone College of Art and San Diego State University.

PATRICIA MCPARLIN
"BEEP BIRCHES" Patricia McParlin Mixed Media 62cm x 51cm / 24.4 inches x 20 inches 2021 “As an artst, I am fascinated by the forms and bark paterns of Birch trees. This is one of several pieces arising from this looking ...” Patricia McParlin
Patricia McParlin is an award winning Britsh artst who lives and works in Wales. Winning The Welsh Artst of the Year, (student award), in 2001, and being selected for The Natonal Eisteddfod in 2002, she has also been recently selected, (2017), as a member of The Royal Cambrian Academy. “I am interested in the power art has to transgress boundaries. It can be in, (at least), two places at once; inner and outer, real and imagined, present and past. It ofers an instant synthesis of thought and emoton, challenging divisions between what is seen and imagined, observed and remembered. An expression both literal and metaphorical in the same moment. 'I partly see my art as a form of visual poetc, or statc music….the impulse to transform…to harmonise discords…walking the line in between beauty and brutality… the biter sweet…' I am currently concerned with the physicality of paintng; colour, form, space, texture and the alchemy that can arise from a response to materials.”
