Editor’s Letter
As I write this, I am struck by the swell of converstaion this new generation of women encourage. The current era emboldens us to feature more from the inspiring voices and identities who have graced our pages, including Artists, Designers, Influencers and Model talents.
For this issue, I wanted to focus on standing up for your dreams. As whole, creatives are depicted as these quiet, reserved individuals. I refuse to follow those rules that society has setup, in the way they control people with low self esteem, with improper information, with branding and with marketing. It’s about truth, it’s about finding your calling and it’s about leaving a legacy that lifts and encourages others to do the same. JOSHUA SGARANO 3

Twentysomething A time to find yourself, to make mistakes, to dig your roots and build your foundations right? Hollywood depicts a scene of twentysomethings seemingly without a care in the world, so why is reality a tumultuous challenge of confusion, comparison, and anxiety? The societal dogma imposed by social media that 20 is the age by which you should know what 22
you want in life and how to get there has led to a destructive misconception surrounding what twenty something’s “should” be doing and what they “should” want out of life. With Instagram and Facebook feeds drowning us in photos of friends getting engaged, pregnant, or that promotion at work, it is easy to question whether you’re on the “right’ track or doing life “right”.
“we lose ourselves in the things we love”
It is this pressure and expectation to conform that robs us of our potential to change the world.
Each person is born with a gift, a uniqueness waiting to be harnessed. I once read a quote “nothing will ruin your twenties more than thinking you should have everything together” No two people are the same. Your journey is yours. Embrace it. Be selfish and take risks. Because if you don’t you run the risk of looking back and forever wondering “what if” and you never regret the chances you took, only the ones you didn’t.
When we date that person because we don’t want to be alone, remain at our mediocre job because we fear change or hold ourselves back from any opportunities presented to us simply because society says it’s “wrong’ we close ourselves off from being U N F O R G E T T A B L E. 23

ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW it was the size of a laptop. I then began to watch youtube for hours each day to figure out how to work it. After a few weeks of practice and word getting around school that I had decks, I was asked to dj a house party. I decided to go ahead with what little knowledge I had and I played the house party with my little controller and two speakers. I look back on it now and I’m still shocked I was able to pull it off. After that night I knew this is what I wanted to do, I entered an underage DJ comp at a local venue in Wollongong nsw and I won, which lead to more things. When I turned 18 I got a local gig for a few weekends playing for hours for free to almost no one, I was still so inlove with it and I just couldn’t stop. One thing led to another and I progressed into the better venue in the area and started to get paid for my work, after two years of grinding I moved into a residency in kings cross at candys apartment, I was on from 8-9 or 9-10 for a good 6 months before
No-one really expected him to say YES. The idea came as I was throwing names around on who we could write a story on. The more names that were thrown into the air, the more I realised it had to be Coby he was well achieved, knew his way around the industry and wasn’t afraid to have a real talk. So Coby, I understand you’ve been in the industry for sometime now and have seen your fair share of the ups and downs. Can I ask firstly, what inspired you to become a DJ? And did you make the transition from an ordinary life into this alternate lifestyle? When I was the age of 15 one of my mates brothers had decks, so one day I asked can I have a go. I was blown away I had 0 idea what I was doing, but I wanted to know so bad. I begged my mum to buy me some decks and after a few weeks of nagging she finally helped me out. I got my first DJ controller 25
“I visioned myself being in this position and it fell into reality” I got a shot at a good set time. I put in the hard work and finally got to prove myself. After that night I was getting a main slot almost every week and people started to reconise what I was doing which then lead into other venues and even interstate venues messaging me. I worked a 9-5 at this point and It was hard to juggle the best of both worlds but I knew what I wanted. After endless ups and downs and constant touring and djing I decided I wanted to leave my day job and focus on DJing, it was the biggest risk I have ever made but I don’t regret it at all because I do what I love and get paid to do it… I don’t really look at it as a job. I visioned myself being in this position and it fell into reality. All good things don’t come easy and have there ups and downs. I wanted to be apart of an agency so bad and I felt as like at the time I was the only one who was touring and doing lots of shows who wasn’t signed. I remember wanting to give up a few times but I didn’t and I stuck to my passion. I lost mates, I was told I can’t, I was laughed at. However I was signed to an agency and that just goes to show you can never stop grinding for what you believe.
I find your story so interesting, because as I understand it, you nearly gave up DJing earlier this year due to some major setbacks, but you’ve re-built yourself personally and your brand from the ground up, can you tell us some of what happened and how you navigated through it? At one point I was heavily envolved in the party side of this job and got caught up in the drugs and alcohol, I wasn’t business smart and just took this as a big party. It almost ruined my career and I made some very stupid decisions. I think most people would have thrown it in after some of the setbacks I faced, like I didn’t know what to do or how to return from my actions but the drive in me got me through. I decided that incident was the incident that changed my life and I haven’t been happier since, I have a clear vision I’m strong minded and most importantly I’m happy. I have been lucky enough to work with some of the biggest artists in Australia, play all over Australia and even internationally. Everyone in life has there ups and downs, but its how we reacted to it in the end and I couldn’t be any more proud of the person I am today. 26
it, don’t let the negativity get you down or make decisions for you. Its not going to be an easy game chasing your dreams I can tell you that, but it will be worth it. Take risks and never find yourself comfortable. I’m always here for anyone who needs to chat and I’ll do my best to help you.
Having overcome the challenges of an alternate lifestyle and the struggles you’ve had along the way, what are some of the tips you would suggest on overcoming the normality mindset society paints and most importantly, how someone can break into the entertainment industry while maintaining who they are as an individual? If I can give anyone any information it would be never give up on your dreams, if you believe you can, you are already half way there. Be smart with who you hang around, find your circle and team and stick with

Perfect skin that will glow I’m all about skin care. Taking care of your skin with a solid routine is something I can’t recommend enough. My go to is Alpha skin acre range, my skin has never been so glowy. I use the cleaners, exfoliater, liquid gold and the exfoliating moisturiser! If you’re on a budget GET THE LIQUID GOLD, trust me, you will glow! However don’t us eliquid gold and exfoliater together, alternate each night and for a deeper exfoliation, do not miosturise after using the liquid gold. If you’re a local to the Mid North Coast, head into Vanity Skin, the ladies their will help you with selecting the correct products for your skin. Sephora is a great opinion also, otherwise you get buy direct at https:alpha-h.com/ 31
HABITS AND RITUALS When I began this year, I set myself the goal to travel somewhere new and creative every weekend. I wanted to be inspired by culture, experiences, horizons and relationships that transcend time. Fast forward to the now, I live a booked schedule life! Why? Because, habits and rituals determine our future. Although I can get a little complacent at times, I have a strong network of people who keep me in accountability with my goals. Traveling has a toll, long hours in the car with little to no sleep isn’t for everyone, most of recovery time is during work hours, where I’m physically there, but mentally asleep. honesty speaking, I couldn’t live a normal, dull life, I mean I tried, I changed my whole life and signed up to serve in the Royal Australian Air Force. It wasn’t for me, I was super depressed, I felt limited & boxed in. Our life is so short in the vastness of eternity, why live a life filled with fear, filled with complacency and lack of challenges? in order to achieve greatness, we must face everything in front of us like it’s our reason to breathe! One thing I’ve learnt is, If you have time to breathe you have to time to pursue your dreams! So don’t tell my your passionate, unless you are willing to commit to habits and rituals that align with your goals.

I love my life more than ever before! I love the outlook I have, I have the people that have surrounded me! Life is art! The way you live is art! You’re life is a master piece, so paint it in a way no one will ever forget! Compose your symphony in a way that touches and moves people so you will be U N F O R G E T T A B L E.
Motivation will only get you so far! there will be times where the habits and rituals you have developed for yourself are the only things that will get you through the storms of life. Remember if you make one compromise for the sake of ease, your whole life will be compromised and you will never achieve the result you first set out for.
“The wind blows wherever it pleases like moving pictures in glass I hear it’s joyful melody And arise Range’s etched in my skin like DNA every peak defining the beauty below like moving clouds, brushed on blue rays that dance with chimes on the wind What grace words that leave the lips the sky is but an ocean above expression is like a grain of sand as I swim through this vast unknown How can one compare? that which we have is not our own the puppets move by the hand as does the potter shape his clay It is with feign tongues that we carve our names like rivers cut in earth Words are mere reflections beauty is the runaway mistress and each season I am born with eyes glinting upon days to come.”
Aim high, because you get what you go for in life. This is your life, you don’t get another one! Ask yourself what you want, position yourself to develop the habits and rituals that will bring the success in your life you are after. Then build your whole life in accordance with that goal.
