Polly Chan Kong Yi
Polly Chan Kong Yi Chan Kong Yi, Polly was born and currently lives in Hong Kong. She graduated from RMIT University in 2018 with a Bachelor of Arts (Fine Art). She now works as a full-time producer and photographer. Chan is interested in making artworks by creative and nontraditional methodology. In her works, she attempts to explore the potential of new media. She believes photographs are not only showing in the aesthetics and conventional frames but also reaching a bold step to more than contemporary can be. Polly’s inspiration comes from non-traditional photograph, overlapping images and some 3D films. She is interested in creating works that invite the participation of the audience. By engaging viewers as much as possible, she hopes that their level of involvement with her ideas increases, mirroring her own involvement in these subjects.

Chan Kong Yi, Polly est née et vit actuellement à Hong Kong. Elle a obtenu un baccalauréat ès arts (beaux-arts) de l'Université RMIT en 2018. Elle travaille maintenant comme productrice et photographe à temps plein. Chan s'intéresse à la fabrication d'œuvres d'art selon une méthodologie créative et non traditionnelle. Dans ses œuvres, elle tente d'explorer le potentiel des nouveaux médias. Elle pense que les photographies ne sont pas seulement représentatives de l'esthétique et des cadres conventionnels, mais atteignent également une étape audacieuse pour aller audelà de ce que peuvent être les contemporains. L’inspiration de Polly provient de photographie non traditionnelle, d’images superposées et de certains films en 3D. Elle s'intéresse à la création d'œuvres qui invitent le public à participer. En engageant les téléspectateurs, autant que possible, elle espère que leur niveau de participation avec ses idées augmentera, ce qui reflète sa propre participation à ces sujets.

Take a Risk for Your Vision Take a Risk for Your Vision demonstrates the tension of hazard. For the photographer, risk embodies both sides of a coin; on one hand seen as a negative circumstance, and on the other, an affirmative potential. People used to regard risk as something injurious and as a vain means to escape, but they do not realise that in some way, there is enjoyment in risk. For example, the process of buying Mark Six is an expectancy and it possibly makes people joyful. “My work aims to fascinate audiences, urging them to stochastically pick their “visions” (their own choices) from my “visions” (illusions created with overlapping colour).”

Pour le photographe, le risque représente les deux faces d’une pièce; d’une part considéré comme une circonstance négative et, d’autre part, d’un potentiel affirmatif. Les gens considéraient le risque comme un acte nuisible et un moyen vain de s'échapper, mais ils ne se rendent pas compte que, d'une manière ou d'une autre, il y a une jouissance du risque. Par exemple, le processus d'achat de Mark Six (la loterie à Hong Kong) est une attente et rend probablement les gens joyeux. «Mon travail a pour but de fasciner les publics, les incitant à choisir stochastiquement leurs« visions »(leurs propres choix) dans mes« visions »(illusions créées avec des couleurs qui se chevauchent). »
