SANCHO IG:@sanchosculpture

The sculptural work of Sancho lays on the edge of natural and artificial worlds He seeks to materialize the invisible with a craftsman and industrial designer approach With a playful and experimental attitude he investigates the relations between aesthetics, science and technology.

Starting from raw materials he modifies them into uniquely refined sculptures, combining traditional and digital fabrication techniques. With an empathetic sense of touch, he concludes each piece with a final distinctive hand work, leaving a background story in them.

Ana Karsanidi’s work in large focuses on the theme of intimacy Emotion is a key factor in her work, as she aims to translate emotional intimacy and her feelings on the depicted themes similarly to Edvard Munch Her Russian and Slavic heritage is a core influence in her work, as culture and history are vital and individual in influencing women, and the journey to personhood itself.

Through researching woman activists like Pussy Riot, their unorthodox way of presenting their work inspired the “shock factor” which she aims for in her work. This forced closeness to things that may be considered taboo, leaves the viewer with the lack of choice to turn a blind eye.
