NAIANA VATAVU

Naiana Vatavu (Bucharest b.1985) is a Bucharest based artist whose practice examines the relation between human nature and different ways of expressing complicated states and emotions In her works she questions people's reactions to social pressure, taking into account autobiographical data and personal reflections. In her current project, "Battle", the goal is to treat the works from an artistic archaeological angle The artist ironically documents imaginary conflicts without a real stake by placing them in an uncertain present. She is interested not so much in the conflict itself, but especially in the vestiges, the remnants of the battles and their personal history that come to emphasize the irony and absurdity of the battle Her mediums are painting, drawing and ceramics.
