The concept currently about the artist’s work is identity politics. The artist believes that if one doesn’t love oneself, another person cannot love the said person as there is a limbo of uncertainty and doubt. On the contrary if one person is smitten by oneself, then the whole world will fall in love if the opportunity arises. However, what is it that makes someone smitten? Is it love or evil? Maybe a balance or if both have one greater than the other? This creates an identity politic. Lastly, the construction is aligned with the concept by the factor of love and evil that determines whether what balance of people will accept who they are, even after certain actions and mental illnesses.

“Life is strange. I am strange. Art has always been seen as my inner sanctuary. It is a way for me to express thoughts, without words. Paintings of intense colour, transferred through the hands onto discarded materials connect me to the work I create: an organised mess. The subject matter I chose to dissect? The complexity of the human psyche, moreover the way we interact with one another. My observations of the human thought process lead me to develop work based off emotion and interaction . To create work with a purpose, not only to provide an understanding to the inner feelings I possess, but to aid others in their personal quest for clarity.

My name is Juliana Campos, or Juuh Artist as I’m famous in the world of arts. I’m from Brazil – São Paulo, but nowadays I live in London - UK. I’m an artist at Capital Art Gallery (UK), Exhibit Here (UK), the Eikones Art Office in São Paulo (BR), Wejam in São Paulo (BR) and ArtBattle Brazil and ArtBattle UK. I love any type of Art, but what fascinates me most is Lettering and its infinite capacity of different types of writing. I am passionate about Abstract Art, Graffiti, Digital Painting and, of course, Lettering. Painting helps me to understand feelings, experiences, disappointments, and joys. Everything inspires me to create. All of this emotional load motivates me to paint and create artwork. As it is with me, I believe that painting helps people to express their feelings and experiences.

ARTDOBRO is a contemporary London-based artist of Russian origin. Living and studying in France, more specifically in Normandy – the birth-place of impressionism, artist explored the works of Monet, Renoir, Degas, Sisley who influenced the development of her own style. Taking inspiration from the vibrant beauty of nature, ARTDOBRO expresses raw emotions on canvas which the talent transforms not into the fine artwork but into the essence of life. These abstract impressionist paintings reflect young passions and desires, celebrating the love of life.

My painting practice is mainly an investigation of Abstract Expressionism. Experimentation is what gets me progressing into finding my personal language. Always exploring new possibilities with paint is part of my practice. Colour and gesture is a constant search and my intuition is my main guide. Unlearning techniques, challenging what we know, and painterly accidents are part of my approach. Following a first phase of seemingly chaotic expression a more reflective phase takes place with my paintings, introducing mixed media such as paper, charcoal, wax and ink.

I consider my artwork to be an immersive, process-based exploration through which I engage with the world and discover meaning. I love exploring multiple themes simultaneously and I often find that my best works emerge from the cross-pollination of contrasting or opposing ideas. I also like to combine different techniques to unusual effect; for example, moving between two and three-dimensional media to create new perspectives. The act of creation has always been as important to me - if not more important – than the final product itself. Temporality and impermanence are themes that have always fascinated me, and the lived experience of creation is something that I aim to reflect through both my daily creative practice and the artwork that I exhibit.

Adele Leyris is a franco-english illustrator and artist based in London. Passionate and inspired by the shapes that Nature offers, she spends a lot of time observing and studying what she finds in the wild before working on fauna or flora compositions. She essentially works with watercolour but sometimes introduces other medias to create contrasts of expression such as acrylic, oil pastels or even embroidery. Her overall work balances the harmonies of botanical forms with the boldness of modern colours, pushing the organic shapes to the limits of abstraction and associating other meanings to seemingly ordinary subjects...

Agnieszka Matyjaszek was born in small town in Poland. In 2014 she achieved Bachelor of Arts & Design at Staffordshire University. Today she is an active member of Stockport Art Guild. You could say that Aggie’s art is just as adventurous as Aggie is herself. She loves to travel and paint her landscapes en plein air. Her figurative sketches are often created at life drawing evenings. You can also find her drawing in coffee shop, train, wherever she finds inspiration. Aggie doesn’t like limits therefor her medium and style is always changing accordingly of her emotions, time and inspirations.

I’m a multi disciplinary artist and experimental musician with synaesthesia, and my practice is centred around the way my mind reads sound as colour, texture, shape and movement. My aim is to explore sensory perception and the emotional and physical response to the relationships that exist between colour and sound. Working closely with sound, my work is created by translating my synaesthetic visualisation of sound into a tangible form, and layering the synaesthetic colours, textures, tones and movements onto canvas. From these composition paintings, I manipulate the static final compositions digitally, creating cascading projected video and sound sequences that are mapped to fit their surroundings, becoming synthesised synaesthetic environments.

Though void of figures my painting deeply centres on people. In abstaining from the human form I instead depict their creations and habitat. Through colour, shape and line I aim to transform the mystical ambience found in a city to the visual. I immerse myself in a process of layering and rearranging the landscape in attempts to understand and unlock this psyche. Ultimately my canvas becomes a map and reflection of this process, documenting my journey to the answer as oppose to it being an endpoint in itself. By making some areas of the canvas instantly recognisable, others impossible to decipher in their origins, the work becomes an unfinished tapestry of colour the viewer imperative for the work to be complete.

Current research issue - Waiting: Uncertainties of Tomorrow Through my projects I feel that I discover my inner fears, longings and re-evaluate my uncertainties. My work seems to be an attempt to explore and question by metaphorical presentation my response to the hidden truths of the world. The essence of the value of these works is in their inherent meaning and an atmosphere, which manifests itself in the dusk of the space portrayed, thus the light may appear, where the hue of colour fulfils clarity and sounds with harmonious melody.

Ian Wolter is a UK based artist and sculptor who is mainly concerned with the abuse of power in society and with how art is used to project status and power. Agnostic in terms of media and technique, he uses these choices to carry meaning; but also because he considers nothing to be ‘off-limits’. His practice ranges from traditional, craft based figurative sculpture to the experimental and conceptual. He trained with the sculptor, Anne Curry and then at the Cambridge School of Art (BA Hons). Prizes have included the Arte Laguna Prize 2016 and RomArt Sculpture Prize 2017. He lives and works near Cambridge with the author Clare Mulley, their three daughters and a lurcher.

The process of creation is one that allows you to live and enjoy the present moment. I particularly enjoy exploring with colour and discovering how the world of art and design can connect with people, enhance experiences and evoke feeling. Having been involved in a range of social action campaigns in the charity sector outside my work as an artist, I have enjoyed exploring the relationship between art & activism, all working towards making the world a better place.
