Early Childhood Music Program
MUSIC
Youth Music Classes
CSMA’s early childhood music program features sequential classes that continually build on concepts, skills and techniques. All classes include parent or caregiver participation, providing an enjoyable experience for both adult and child. In Little Musicians classes, young children will learn about concepts like rhythm, tempo and melody by singing, dancing and using instruments to develop a pre-instrument vocabulary. Getting Started classes focus on the fundamentals of a child’s early musical development and include skill preparation for introductory classes and private lessons. Classes include singing, ear training, notation, movement and rhythmic games.
Group classes are an exciting and collaborative way to start learning an instrument or begin playing in an ensemble. Our expert teaching musicians guide students step-by-step along the path of music. Introductory classes introduce students to musicianship skills and instrument-specific techniques that prepare them for placement in private instruction and intermediate music studies. Ensembles (see page 9) provide a supportive environment for learning to make music as a team.
In our Early Childhood Music Program, students will:

Camps Campers can explore a favorite art subject or learn something new! CSMA’s camps let students create and share the joy of making art and new friends in a safe, welcoming environment. Offered during school holidays, our small-group day camps provide a variety of themed art activities taught by a faculty of professional artists and arts educators. Onsite at our spacious Mountain View campus, each one-week camp involves a mix of art-making and relaxation, including outdoor play time. CSMA is pleased to offer fun and creative Holiday Break Camps in January 2024 and Winter Break Camps in February 2024! Financial aid is available.
