Brilliant color, compositional complexity, and rhythmic energy

In a unique reinvention of hard-edge abstraction, Odili Donald Odita infuses geometric form with pulsating shards of brilliant color. In his wall paintings and canvases, bands of color stream, intersect, collide, and diverge from each other to create dynamic patterns charged with references to African textiles, electronic music, television test-band patterns, and streaming data.

Grand Lobby Wall Painting On view and in progress beginning October 6 In this exceptional and ambitious project for the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech, Odili Donald Odita transforms the Grand Lobby with a vibrant, large-scale wall painting created over a span of 25 days. PATRICK WILSON Ruth C. Horton Gallery Luminous, sumptuously colored geometric forms; complex, mesmerizing visual effects Los Angeles-based artist Patrick Wilson electrifies complex layers of geometric forms with hypersaturated color. In his paintings, geometry and lush color revel together in an exploration of structure, order, and the complexities of spatial dynamics.
