Since our full-time launch in 2017, we’ve thrown ourselves into fundraising for our nominated charities each year. During 2021, although limited by Covid-19, the Park Radio team staged a 10 mile sponsored cycle ride to Gissing and back. It was great fun and raised over £1,000 for our four local and national nominated charities - Solo Housing, Waveney Foodbank, Alzheimers Society & Parkinsons’ UK. Thank you for your sponsorship. We are also planning a coffee morning at the DYCC very soon too!

Solo Housing

Solo Housing has been working locally with single people to find housing solutions since 1985. We help a range of people, from those who simply need a roof over their head, to those who need regular help to overcome problems that they may be experiencing. At Solo we believe in people and our intention is to provide opportunities for those who pass through our door to improve their lives. We are funded by a number of different agencies, as well as by voluntary donation, to provide support, advice, information and practical help to achieve this.

Waveney Foodbank

We don’t think anyone in our community should have to face going hungry. That’s why we provide three days’ nutritionally balanced emergency food and support to local people who are referred to us in crisis. We are part of a nationwide network of foodbanks, supported by The Trussell Trust, working to combat poverty and hunger across the UK. Alzheimer’s Society

Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia charity. We campaign for change, fund research to find a cure and support people living with dementia today. Dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. Someone develops it every three minutes and there’s currently no cure.

Parkinson’s UK

We’re close to major breakthroughs. Funding the right research into the most promising treatments, we get closer to a cure every day. Until then, we're here for everyone affected by Parkinson’s. Fighting for fair treatment and better services. Making everyone see its real impact. People with Parkinson’s, scientists and supporters, fundraisers and families, carers and clinicians, all working side by side. Impatient for change, we’re taking a stand, speaking out, chipping in, and playing our part
