Norwich The fine city of Norwich has an artistic pedigree to be proud of. The renowned Norwich School of Painters, established in 1803, was inspired by the region's stunning landscape and brought together several generations of romantic artists including John Sell Cotman, John Crome, Robert Ladbroke and James Stark. Even today, you can sense the essence of the city in their

Today the thriving Norwich Twenty Group comprises more than eighty members including painters, sculptors, installation and conceptual artists, printmakers and photographers. They aim to put on two exhibitions each year. The city is also gaining a well-deserved reputation for providing some of the most innovative and exciting arts courses in the country including those at Norwich University of the Arts and the Anteros Foundation.

paintings.

Norwich Cathedral

Norwich is also home to one of the biggest arts festivals in the country - the Norfolk & Norwich Festival. It is also the setting for the prestigious Norwich Print Fair which showcases the work of contemporary printmakers in the city.

For the third year running, in October 2016, the streets of Norwich provided inspiration for Paint Out Norwich the UK's only juried plein air art competition. This popular event has grown in size since it was first conceived and in 2016 even offered artists the chance to take to the water to paint from a canoe on the River Wensum. 2016 also saw the introduction of a Freestyle larger form, 2-day event which proved very popular. The event is running again this year.

Looking forward, Norwich is proud to be hosting the GoGoHares! sculpture trail in 2018. Fifty sculptures will be decorated by local artists and placed around the city as a follow-up to the incredibly successful GoGoDragons! and GoGoGorillas! trails from previous years. Wild in Art are working with the charity Break once again with the trail helping to celebrate their 50th anniversary.
