SIMON BORST PLEIN AIR PAINTING ARTIST STATEMENT NATURE, A GLOBAL SOURCE OF INSPIRATION Plein air painting is the way i like to work and the nature is my source of inspiration. Find solutions, being inventive and creative, never repeat always try to be innovative. Combining two sources, the elements you are surrounded by and your own way of creating a new piece of work. Respect the environment. I try to add new elements.Part of the history of art, I hope to create new work. To create artwork you need to be free in your mind, brainstorming while painting. Holland the base and source of me being the artist likes to be outside thinking of all the work still to come . Colorful and light-abstract is the way i work. Untill now, because this trip is still a big adventure. It is like starting a new work; you do not know what the result will be. One thing I know, you need to have courage to change things and persistence because it will take time to create good work. I like a painting who tells me something about the painter. Personally, I think that the character of the painter should be shown in the work he or she makes. a plein air painting is spontaneously and directly connected to your feelings and character.

Knowing that when I put my easel somewhere I start all over again and search for the best solution despite the weather and all the things surrounding you. Just like in real life, going into the unknown. Being part of an art colony or exhibition somewhere around the world my art is also a way of communicate to people abroad. Art for me is communication by form and color. Painting becomes a way of living; it takes you by the hand for a great journey. Only when you are part of this dialogue a good painting appears.
