CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOUR ARTISTIC STYLE?

“My artistic style is Impressionism.”

WHAT IS YOUR CREATIVE PROCESS?

“I usually mix the first layer of paint 50/50 with cold wax. After that I will apply many layers of oil paint only. The addition of solvent sprayed onto the oil layers allows me to cut through the layers of oil all the way back to the first layer of paint, thus, visually adding to the appearance of more texture and depth to the painting, while

keeping the ethereal quality of the piece.”

HOW AND WHEN DID YOU DISCOVER YOU WANTED TO BE AN ARTIST?

“I knew from the 7th Grade that I wanted to be an artist. My mother used to paint when I was young and she sometimes allowed me to use her oils and a canvas.”

“I endeavor to convey feeling and mood through my paintings. People tell me they experience a profound sense of peace and

HAS ANY PART OF YOUR STORY INFLUENCED WHAT YOU DO NOW?

“Painting makes my heart sing! The painting itself draws out the heart and soul of me simply by me picking up the palette knife and brush and allowing the piece to live. I do not question this and by my acceptance of it, each painting takes on a life and a purpose of its own.”
