ILIAN RACHOV: A FUSION OF BAROQUE & ROLL IN FASHION AND ART
by Viviana Puello
In the world of contemporary art and fashion, where innovation often clashes with tradition, few artists have mastered the balance like Ilian Rachov. With a style he proudly defines as “Baroque & Roll,” Rachov’s work merges the meticulous craftsmanship of Baroque art with the vibrant, rebellious spirit of modern times. A selftaught artist, his journey has been a testament to the power of dedication, perseverance, and creative vision.
Born in Bulgaria, Rachov has spent more than two decades working in Italy, a country synonymous with art history and cultural richness. The influence of these surroundings is evident in his work, where classical techniques meet bold, contemporary expression. His artistic foundation lies in techniques such as egg tempera, oil colors, and the use of gold leaf—methods employed by the old masters. Rachov applies these historical approaches to modern designs, making his creations stand out in both the art world and the global fashion industry.
One of the most fascinating aspects of Rachov’s career is his collaboration with the iconic fashion house Versace.
His journey with Versace began in 2003 when he was asked to design Baroque patterns for their Home Collection. The success of these designs catapulted his career, allowing his work to be showcased in renowned boutiques and worn by international superstars like Madonna and Beyoncé. Rachov’s www.artbyilian.com
designs continue to embody a blend of history, luxury, and contemporary flair, earning him a distinguished place among artists who have successfully bridged the gap between fine art and fashion.
In this interview, Rachov reflects on his unique style, his influences, and his experiences working with some of the biggest names in fashion. He also shares insights into his creative process, his challenges as an artist, and his aspirations for the future.
1 How would you define your artistic style? Are there specific elements or principles that you always incorporate into your work to make it distinctively "Ilian Rachov"?
Being a self-taught artist, I’ve learned everything I know from the old masters. The different techniques—from egg tempera, oil colors, oil colors with velature (the transparent colors used by the great masters to give depth and very soft shadows), gilding with gold leaf, and priming wooden panels or linen canvases— are the most significant part of my art. This is the foundation that everyone who wants to make art at a professional level must understand. Along with this “historical” way of learning and creating art, I am also a person of today. Unconsciously, the times I live in have influenced my art and my mind. So, I define my style as a mix of Baroque and Rock, something like “Baroque & Roll”— Baroque for the extremely perfected technique, and Rock & Roll for the contemporary outlook.
2 As a Bulgarian artist who has made a significant impact on the international stage, how do you navigate your cultural identity in your work? Do you feel that your heritage informs your art, and if so, how?
The fact that I am a native Bulgarian is probably reflected in each of my works because it’s part of me. At the same time, I have been living and working in Italy for over 25 years, and that has had a significant impact on my artistic vision. Every day, I see original paintings by the masters of the 16th and 17th centuries, and I am still striving for that same level of perfection in my work.
3 Your work often bridges the gap between traditional and modern art. How do you maintain a balance between honoring historical artistic traditions while still pushing the boundaries of innovation in your designs?
Yes, it’s true. I try to “translate” many traditional artworks into a modern context, but I do it all by hand, not through Photoshop or AI. I believe we are slowly losing our talents. Having talent means nothing if you don’t exercise it. By making mistakes, we learn more, and sometimes those mistakes become the beginning of a masterpiece. I think innovation is a great thing, as long as it’s genuine innovation and not fake, which happens when people are unable to do something better. As you can see, 90% of contemporary “artists” are not real artists but are more concerned with
commercial marketing and sometimes even money laundering.
4 What inspires you the most in your creative process? Are there specific themes, places, or experiences that fuel your imagination?
II have always been inspired by beauty, the magnificence of harmony, and the power of the message. Of course, as an artist who has worked for many years on commission, many of my works are inspired by what my clients want. They chose me because of my style, technique, and particularly my color harmony, but the subjects are what they desire. Many people ask why I create so much religious art. It’s because my clients request it. In the same way, the old masters created art as a profession. All the paintings we see in museums were made because someone commissioned them. The great masters, like Rubens, Raphael, and Michelangelo, were very wealthy during their lifetimes.
5 Are there any artists, either from history or contemporary times, who have significantly influenced your work? How have they shaped your approach to art?
Yes, many artists have influenced me, such as Leonardo da Vinci, Rubens, Van Dyck, Raphael, Simone Martini, Boris Vallejo, Ulisse Sartini, Zachary Zograf, and Jim Lee. I’m a simple realist, so when I see someone better than me, I start learning from them, and I’m still learning from these great masters.
6 Working with a global fashion icon like Versace is a remarkable achievement. Could you share how this collaboration came about and how it influenced your work and artistic identity?
I’m still freelancing with many fashion companies, both famous and lesserknown. Of course, Versace is one of the most famous collaborations I’ve had. In early 2003, I received a call from Versace’s headquarters asking if I was available to create some Baroque pattern designs for their new Home Collection. At first, I thought it was a joke and didn’t attend the appointment, but they called me again the next day asking why I hadn’t come. That’s when I realized it was real. My first design was a logo with a Gothic “V” (for Versace) mixed with the head of Medusa, and it was a big success because, at the time, the company was struggling after the death of Gianni Versace. After that, I created many pattern designs for them, which are displayed in their leading boutiques worldwide. Creating for Versace was an inspiring moment for me because of the vast visibility—famous singers, actors, and rock stars wear Versace, including Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Taylor Swift,
and Beyoncé. Seeing my designs on such icons is a satisfaction for any artist. However, after some internal changes within the company, things became less reliable in terms of payments, so I now prefer working with smaller companies like Silvio Fiorello, where I have direct contact with the owner. We work together and decide how things will be promoted.
7 Every artist faces challenges in their career. Could you talk about some of the obstacles you’ve encountered in your artistic journey and how you overcame them? What has been your proudest moment so far?
I’ll start with the second question. My proudest moment is now because I’m still alive and have survived doing what I love—art. There are many challenges in an artist’s life. The most famous challenge is how to pay the rent, buy colors, and cover life’s expenses. We don’t have a guaranteed minimum salary every month, so we must find a way. In Italy, for example, there isn’t a structured management system for artists like there is in America. Here, we have to manage on our own without institutional help. Did you know that in Italy, the profession of “artist” doesn’t officially exist? They are considered artisans, which is insane when you think about the generations of old masters who made Italy famous around the world.
8 Is there a particular message or emotion you aim to convey through your art? How do you hope your audience will interpret or connect with your work?
Yes, I always aim to convey beauty and harmony. I’ve studied
chromotherapy, the science of color, and how specific color combinations can heal people’s psyches. Mixed with the beauty of the subjects and good technique, my message is: Beauty and harmony in everything will save the world.
9 Looking ahead, what are some of the projects or artistic endeavors you’re most excited about? Are there any new directions you’re considering exploring in your art?
I’ve received some very exciting proposals to design a fashion collection for a young brand. It’s always nice to work with young people because they are our future. Of course, I’m also preparing for an art exhibition in Rome on November 1st and continuing to work on commissions from private clients. Some of these clients have connected with me through social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook. I haven’t lost my optimism or enthusiasm for any new project.
Ilian Rachov is an artist who has not only mastered the techniques of the old masters but has also found a way to infuse them with the vibrancy of the contemporary world. His ability to blend tradition with modernity while staying true to his artistic vision makes him a unique figure in both the art and fashion industries. As Rachov continues to explore new projects and collaborations, his work remains a testament to the timeless power of beauty, harmony, and artistic innovation.
Each piece is an autobiographical reflection, embodying her resilience and how she navigates life’s dualities—pain and beauty, struggle and triumph. The strength of her art lies in its capacity to magnify beauty in sorrow, presenting every brushstroke as an act of healing and hope. There’s a mesmerizing aura to her works as they explore the intricate dance between light and darkness. Her magic is her ability to turn the painful, the “ugly,” into something exquisitely beautiful.
The first piece, “Africa,” captures the essence of regal femininity, with striking contrasts between the bold, earthy colors and delicate, intricate details. The subject’s piercing gaze draws the viewer in, commanding attention while the subtle textures breathe life into the canvas. "Jackie" pays homage to the legend Jackie Robinson, using fluid brushstrokes that capture his strength, perseverance, and legacy in every stroke. The piece's intensity is palpable, celebrating his power and influence through bold yet graceful lines.
Her third piece, “Rebirth,” evokes serenity
and surrealism, inviting the viewer to dive into a world where color flows like water and the human form intertwines with nature. This visual narrative speaks to renewal, courage, and transformation—a story of rising from the ashes and embracing life anew.
“Satchel” and “Winter’s Obsession” continue this journey, each delving deeper into the human experience. They capture the spirit of determination and joy, illuminating the external world and the inner dialogue that shapes our existence. Smithjordan’s use of collage within these pieces adds texture and layers of meaning, as each material tells its own part of the story.
Sydnei Smith Jordan’s art does not just sit on a wall; it lives, breathes, and invites the audience to feel deeply. Her ability to turn life's most painful moments into beauty makes her work a visual

Nature's Guardian: The Art of Tracey Chaykin
Tracey Chaykin's work is more than just captivating—it’s a vivid call to action. Each stroke of her colored pencils offers an immersive encounter with the world’s most delicate ecosystems, rendered in breathtaking hyperrealism. Chaykin doesn't merely depict nature; she invites us to pause and consider our responsibility to preserve it. Her art, a harmonious blend of beauty and advocacy, amplifies the urgency of environmental conservation while offering a serene visual escape.
Take her piece *Morning Swim*, for example. Here, we are drawn into a tranquil moment shared between two mallards gliding through still water. The precision with which she captures the subtle interplay of light and reflection on the water’s surface highlights her technical mastery. The realism is so profound that you can almost feel the soft ripple against the birds' feathers, making the viewer feel like a silent observer in nature’s quiet, untouched moments. Yet, beneath the serenity of the scene lies a powerful message about the fragility of wildlife habitats.
Her *Sanctuary* piece is equally moving—beefilled honeycombs teem with life, buzzing with detail. Chaykin’s meticulous rendering not only celebrates the intricacies of these creatures but also serves as a reminder of their critical role in the ecosystem. The richness of the honey, coupled with the texture of the bees’ delicate wings, immerses us in the fragile beauty that is too often taken for granted.
But perhaps Chaykin’s most evocative work is *Connected*, a piece where Earth itself becomes a sentient being, looking back at us with imploring eyes. The face within the globe suggests the undeniable link between humanity and our planet, asking us: Will we act in time? The cosmos swirls in the background, reminding us of our small place in an interconnected universe. Chaykin’s unique approach to blending environmentalism with visual art is both haunting and hopeful—a testament to her commitment to inspire change.
Chaykin’s art is a bridge between natural beauty and the critical need for conservation. Each creation leaves an indelible mark on the viewer, urging action through its exquisite depiction of a world worth saving.

Breaking Boundaries: Frank Hoeffler's Mastery of Abstract Expressionism
In Frank Hoeffler's work, there is a palpable tension between control and spontaneity, structure and chaos, which makes his pieces so utterly arresting. His oil on canvas paintings evokes a sense of natural fracturing, as if the earth itself has pulled apart to reveal the raw energy flowing beneath. Each work showcases his ability to extract beauty from fissures, turning fractures into captivating visual statements.
His abstract works' heavy, textured brushstrokes and dynamic colors suggest a deliberate balance between the serene and
the explosive. Hoeffler's latest series, including pieces like "Don't Break Your Mother's Back" and "I Am Done Talking About It," demonstrate his unique approach to abstraction. Large blocks of white emerge from chaotic backgrounds, tethered together with veins of color, like broken stones held by invisible roots of energy. These paintings appear as snapshots of something much larger—a glimpse into the powerful forces shaping nature and human emotion.
“I am done Talking about it” Oil on Canvas, 30’’x24’’
His journey through various artistic styles—realism, impressionism, expressionism—has given Hoeffler a toolbox of techniques that enhance his current abstract work. His mastery of oil painting comes through in the depth of texture and the vibrant energy pulsing from every piece. With a restrained yet bold color palette, his work combines subtlety and grandeur.
This is an artist unafraid of exploring the contradictions inherent in the human experience. The fractures depicted in his paintings feel deeply metaphorical, as if they mirror the cracks in our own lives—the broken pieces we stitch together to create meaning. There is a universality to Hoeffler's art, which, despite its abstract nature, speaks directly to the human soul.
Frank Hoeffler doesn't just create art—he invites us to explore the spaces between, the moments of rupture where beauty resides. His work compels you to look deeper, to let yourself be drawn into the cracks, and to find something transformative within.

“Lyrical Rhythms and Visual Harmonies: The Art of Wendy Cohen”
Wendy Cohen’s work captivates the soul through its seamless fusion of abstraction, color, and texture. Her art radiates a visceral energy, a symphony of hues that beckons the viewer to engage with every stroke, shape, and collage element. Each piece unfolds like a narrative, a dance of emotions that invites you into Cohen’s world, where chaos and precision intertwine in a striking balance. Her paintings echo the subconscious language, rich with intuitive mark-making and a masterful interplay of geometry and spontaneity.
At the heart of Cohen’s work is a dynamic relationship between form and color, a testament to her exploration of Abstract Expressionism and Geometric Abstraction. She conjures a sense of movement that defies the constraints of the canvas, where the viewer is not merely an observer but a participant in the unfolding experience. The juxtaposition of bold, sweeping brushstrokes and the precision of geometric shapes creates a vibrant tension, while her use of recycled materials adds an element of raw, tactile beauty.
Cohen’s use of color is nothing short of alchemical. Her palette radiates with life, each shade carefully chosen to provoke a response, to evoke a sense of wonder and introspection. There is a musicality to her paintings, an underlying rhythm that pulsates with the energy of the natural and urban worlds she draws inspiration from. Her work feels like a visual ode to the sensory experiences of life—a celebration of light, shadow, and form.
What sets Wendy Cohen apart is her ability to breathe new life into the canvas, transforming simple materials into something transcendent. Through collage and texture, she brings layers
of history and memory into her work, creating simultaneously intimate and expansive compositions. Her art does more than just communicate—it resonates, lingers, and leaves the viewer in awe of its poetic complexity. To experience Wendy Cohen’s work is to enter a space where art becomes a conversation, a shared journey of discovery and joy.
DR. ROD CUSIC ARTIST ENGINEER
rodcusic.com
“Transcending Dimensions: The Luminous Odyssey of Rod Cusic’s Experimental Art”
Rod Cusic’s art emerges as a breathtaking visual symphony that transcends conventional boundaries, seamlessly blending traditional techniques with innovative experimentation. His transition from classical figure and landscape painting to the experimental world of photoluminescence highlights both his inventive spirit and profound connection to the medium.
In the piece presented, Cusic captivates the viewer with an intricate dance of colors and forms that seem to pulse with energy. This is not merely a static image but an evolving narrative that unfolds across three distinct lighting conditions—natural light, black light, and complete darkness. The interplay between these states transforms the painting into a living entity, each version of the work offering a unique visual experience. It is an invitation to explore the unseen, to delve into the mysteries of the universe as Cusic perceives them.
His background in aerospace engineering lends a unique precision to his compositions, which are rich in storytelling yet grounded in scientific inquiry. Inspired by Leonardo Da Vinci, Cusic embodies the Renaissance ideal, merging art and science to push the boundaries of what is possible in contemporary painting. The use of handmade photoluminescent paints is not just a technical achievement but a manifestation of his desire to control the viewer’s experience across multiple dimensions.
Cusic’s art is more than just a visual spectacle; it is a journey through cosmic landscapes and quantum realms, where every stroke and hue serves as a portal to a deeper understanding of reality. His commitment to creating consistent and original works, meticulously designed to respond to different lighting conditions, sets him apart in the contemporary art world.
The painting is a universe unto itself, a cosmic explosion of color and form that invites the viewer to lose themselves in its depths. It’s as if Cusic has captured the very essence of creation, distilled it onto the canvas, and then handed it over to us to explore. His work does not merely hang on a wall; it breathes, it shifts, and it changes—just as the universe itself does.

MONIKA BENDNER
Monika Bendner’s art is a compelling exploration of color, form, and emotion, woven together with a mastery that is as sophisticated as it is instinctive. Born in the culturally rich city of Berlin, Bendner’s early fascination with landscapes and figurative motifs laid the foundation for a journey that would see her evolving into a digital artist of remarkable vision. Her education at private
art schools in Munich further honed her craft, adding depth to her already profound understanding of artistic techniques. This fusion of traditional training and digital innovation is evident in her works, which are as much a celebration of her heritage as they are a testament to her boundless imagination.
The piece under consideration, featuring a mesmerizing yellow rose, is a perfect embodiment of Bendner’s artistic ethos. The rose, rendered in vibrant hues that seem to glow from within, is not just a flower; it is a living, breathing entity, pulsing with the warmth and vitality that only a true artist can evoke. The petals, layered in soft gradients of yellow, invite the viewer to delve into their depths, where light and shadow dance in a harmonious interplay. This is where Bendner’s genius lies— in her ability to transform a simple subject into a complex, emotionally charged experience.
What sets Bendner apart is her fearless approach to creativity. She embraces experimentation, allowing her imagination to lead the way without constraint. This openness to the unknown results in works that are as diverse as they are cohesive, each piece bearing her unmistakable signature. The yellow rose is a striking example of this, where every petal is meticulously crafted yet exudes a natural spontaneity. The colors are carefully chosen, each shade of yellow contributing to a composition that is both soothing and invigorating.
Bendner’s art is deeply influenced by her everyday experiences and emotions, which she translates into visual narratives that resonate on a universal level. The yellow rose, for instance, captures the essence of joy, optimism, and the simple beauty of nature. Yet, beneath this surface, there is a subtle complexity—a reflection of the artist’s inner world and the myriad emotions that fuel her creativity.
Monika Bendner’s work is an invitation to experience the world through a lens of heightened sensitivity and appreciation. It is a celebration of the beauty that surrounds us and a reminder of the powerful emotions that art can evoke. Through her art, Bendner not only communicates her unique vision but also connects with her audience on a deeply personal level, making her work both timeless and profoundly moving.
HARRY BURLEIGH

“Unveiling Beauty: The Silent Dialogue in Harry T. Burleigh's Art”
Harry T. Burleigh’s art is not just a visual experience; it is an invitation to engage in a deeper, almost mystical conversation. Burleigh's work resonates with those who are willing to look beyond the surface and explore the profound beauty hidden within the interplay of shapes, colors, and subtle figures that seem to emerge from the canvas itself.
One of the most compelling aspects of Burleigh's artistry is his unwavering commitment to the exploration of beauty in all its forms. His paintings are more than mere representations; they are explorations of color, shape, and emotion, woven together with a mastery that can only be described as enchanting. In
“Genie
and the Serpent” Oil on Canvas, 24"x48"
each piece, Burleigh demonstrates an exceptional ability to capture the essence of a moment, a feeling, or a memory, all while leaving space for the viewer to bring their own interpretations into the dialogue.
In the piece The Beach Towel, Burleigh's approach to color and form is on full display. The painting's warm, swirling hues of amber, gold, and soft pinks create an atmosphere of both comfort and intrigue, reminiscent of a serene, sunlit day by the ocean. The fluidity of the lines suggests movement, almost as if the breeze has gently stirred the scene into existence. Yet, as with much of Burleigh's work, there is a deeper layer—an abstract figure that seems to hover on the edge of recognition, inviting the viewer to linger, to explore, to connect.
Burleigh’s use of pareidolia—seeing faces or figures in random patterns—is not just a technique; it is a doorway into a more profound experience of his art. His ability to draw these images out of seemingly random textures and shapes speaks to a deeper understanding of the human psyche, where the subconscious mind finds meaning in the abstract. This connection between the artist’s intent and the viewer’s perception is where Burleigh’s genius truly shines. The art does not impose itself; it invites you to find your own story within its folds.
As you engage with Burleigh's work, you are not just an observer; you become a participant in a silent, yet profound conversation. His art speaks first, quietly but with undeniable presence, and in doing so, it draws you into a dialogue that transcends words, leaving a lasting impression that lingers long after you’ve stepped away.

Frank Mayes is an artist whose work transcends mere realism, creating an experience that is as much about perception as it is about the subject itself. Born in Pensacola, Florida, and shaped by a life of exploration—from the surf of the Gulf to the grand halls of Europe’s finest museums—Mayes brings a unique perspective to the art world. His journey is reflected in his paintings, which combine the precision of realism with the ethereal qualities of light and shadow.
Mayes' technique, which he describes as "implied detail," is a masterclass in the subtlety of observation. From a distance, his paintings appear vividly real, almost photographic. However, upon closer inspection, one notices the loose brushstrokes, the deliberate lack of hard edges, and the almost pixelated quality of the paint application. This duality—where the image oscillates between abstraction and realism—draws the viewer into an intimate dance with the canvas. It is as if Mayes invites us to not just see, but to feel the painting, to experience the process of bringing an image into focus.
One of the most striking elements of Mayes' work is his manipulation of light. He doesn’t merely paint light; he harnesses it, bending it to his will to create an almost tangible atmosphere. This interplay between light and shadow gives his paintings a life of their own, a sense of movement that is both dynamic and serene. It is in these contrasts that Mayes excels, finding infinite possibilities in the subtle variations of brightness and darkness.
Influenced by his extensive travels in Europe, particularly Italy, Mayes channels the spirit of the Old Masters while infusing his work with a modern sensibility. His paintings, whether small and intimate or grand and imposing, possess a timeless quality that resonates with viewers from all walks of life.
Frank Mayes is not just an artist; he is a visual storyteller, capturing moments that linger in the mind long after the first glance. His work is a reminder that art is not just about what is seen, but about what is felt—about the emotions and memories that a painting can evoke.
CHER ANDERSON
"The Enchanting World of Cher Anderson: Where Wildlife and Art Converge"
Cher Anderson is not just a wildlife artist; she is a master of transforming the vivid essence of the natural world into mesmerizing art that speaks directly to the soul. Her journey from a young girl experimenting with watercolors to a celebrated artist with an international following is as colorful and dynamic as the subjects she portrays. Her work is a vivid reflection of her lifelong passion for wildlife and her relentless pursuit of artistic perfection.
The piece before us is a perfect example of Anderson's artistic prowess. A vibrant Betta fish, its fins billowing like silk in the water, bursts forth in a spectrum of colors against a stark black background. The juxtaposition of the dark void and the explosion of color creates a visual spectacle that is both captivating and thought-provoking. Anderson’s choice of mixed media—combining watercolors, pastels, and pencils— adds unique texture and depth to the piece, making the fish seem almost alive, swimming through an abstract ocean of color.
What sets Anderson apart from her peers is her ability to
capture the fleeting, ethereal moments of wildlife, not just in their physical form but in their essence. Her work is more than a visual representation; it is an emotional journey that invites the viewer into the world of the creatures she paints.
The meticulous attention to detail, the lifelike textures, and the vibrant colors all work in harmony to create pieces that are not only beautiful but also deeply evocative.
Anderson’s commitment to her craft is evident in every brushstroke. Her art is not just a reflection of the wildlife she so passionately loves but also a testament to her dedication to wildlife conservation. Through her work, Anderson hopes to inspire others to appreciate the beauty of the natural world and to take action to preserve it.
In a world where we are often disconnected from nature, Anderson’s art serves as a powerful reminder of the beauty that surrounds us and the importance of protecting it. Her work is a celebration of life in its most vibrant form, and it is impossible not to be moved by it.
JEAN JACQUES PORRET “Rhythm in Bronze: The Timeless Sculptural Mastery of Jean Jacques Porret”
Jean-Jacques Porret is an artist whose work transcends the conventional boundaries of bronze sculpture, drawing viewers into a world where form and emotion intertwine with a strikingly modern sensibility. With roots in engineering, Porret’s transition to the demanding art of lost wax casting reveals a mind that is both meticulous and deeply imaginative, characteristics that resonate powerfully in his sculptural creations.
Porret’s journey into the world of art began at a tender age, driven by a deep-seated passion for carving and woodwork. This early immersion into the realm of tactile creativity was largely self-guided, but he was fortunate to have esteemed mentors such as Pomodoro, Chilida, Ramseyer, Etrog, and Henry Moore, who imparted their wisdom and fielded his curiosity. It was in these hallowed halls of creativity that Porret found himself inexorably drawn toward the complex art of bronze and lost wax casting. The allure of bronze, a material both ‘responsive’ and sweet to the touch, captivated him, presenting a unique challenge that would become central to his artistic expression.
His sculptures are more than just representations; they are visceral experiences, each piece pulsating with the rhythms of life itself. His dedication to bronze—a material he describes as “demanding, yet sweet to the touch”— is evident in the fluidity and grace that define his work. The image attached offers a glimpse into this mastery: a composition that seems to capture movement in its purest form, where the abstracted human figure flows like liquid, embodying a dance of curves and contours.
What sets Porret apart is his relentless pursuit of artistic purity and personal expression. His sculptures are not mere objects; they are the result of an instinctive process where each shape emerges organically, one form giving birth to the next until the final piece embodies what Porret calls “rhythm in space.” His work, while stylistically figurative, does not revolve around the human form itself, but rather the emotions and ideas it engenders, often reflected in the dynamic tension that ripples through the fluid curves and precarious balance. This philosophy is vividly present in his work, where the line between nature and man, organic and crafted, is elegantly blurred.
Porret’s work is a testament to the power of artistic dedication and the unyielding pursuit of personal truth. Each creation carries significant sentiment and inherent symbolism. His bronzes, now gracing collections across the globe, embody a balance between strength and sensitivity, order and chaos. In every curve and every polished surface, Jean-Jacques Porret leaves an indelible mark—a whisper of immortality that ensures his legacy will endure long after the final cast has cooled.
Incorporating granite and marble into his bronzes, Porret has created a body of work that is as visually compelling as it is intellectually stimulating. These materials, once relegated to mere bases, have become integral to the sculptures themselves, jutting through the bronze with a force that speaks to the tension between solidity and fluidity, the eternal and the ephemeral. The resulting pieces are not just modern; they are timeless, exuding a seductive allure that invites both contemplation and touch.

Her work, as seen in the exquisite piece before us, is not merely a depiction of nature—it’s an immersive experience that captures the soul of the viewer.
In this particular work, Pushparaj masterfully employs watercolor to create an interplay of softness and vibrancy. The flowers appear as if they are floating in a gentle breeze, their forms delicately dissolving into the background, creating an effect that is both soothing and mesmerizing. Each bloom is imbued with a life of its own, pulsating with subtle energy that seems to radiate beyond the canvas.
What sets Pushparaj apart is her ability to convey the essence of beauty without being confined by the literal.
The blossoms are not just flowers—they are expressions of joy, whispers of passion, and echoes of serenity. Her color palette, dominated by warm hues of pinks, reds, and purples, mingles harmoniously with cooler tones, creating a dynamic yet balanced composition. This dance of colors speaks directly to the emotions, drawing the viewer into a contemplative state where the ordinary is transcended, and the spirit is uplifted.
The delicate strokes and washes of color are executed with a precision that belies their spontaneity. There’s a rhythm to her brushwork that mirrors the organic growth of the flowers she portrays. The transparency and layering of watercolor allow for a depth and luminosity that make the blooms appear as though they are illuminated from within.
This piece by Pushparaj is not just a visual delight; it is an invitation to pause, to breathe, and to connect with the quiet yet profound beauty that exists in the natural world. It reminds us
that art can be a sanctuary, a place where we can find solace and inspiration amid the chaos of life.
In a world that often rushes past the subtleties of nature, Neela Pushparaj’s work stands as a testament to the power of
stillness and the enduring allure of the natural world. Her art is a celebration of life’s fleeting moments, captured in a way that resonates deeply with the human experience.

HÉLÈNE DESERRES
The Elemental Alchemist: Hélène DeSerres’ Transformative Vision of Nature
Hélène DeSerres’ art is nothing short of a revelation—a visceral exploration that transcends the boundaries between material and imagination, nature and abstraction. To step into her world is to embark on a journey where the organic meets the surreal, and where the untamed beauty of the natural world is reinterpreted through a masterful blend of media and technique.
From her earliest days, DeSerres was steeped in the language of art, surrounded by beauty that sparked a lifelong passion for creation. Her work, however, is far from derivative. It is the product of an artist who has continually reinvented herself, drawing from a deep well of experiences across diverse mediums—watercolors, sculpture, photography, and beyond.
At the core of DeSerres' practice is her profound connection to nature. Her pieces are imbued with a spirit that captures the essence of the landscapes, animals, and organic forms that inspire her. This connection is not merely representational but deeply emotional and symbolic. In her hands, materials like bronze, resin, and watercolor become conduits for expressing the fragility, power, and mystery of the natural world.
What sets DeSerres apart is her fearless experimentation. Whether she is casting in bronze or layering watercolors, she approaches each medium with the same intuitive, exploratory spirit. This versatility allows her to break free from the constraints of any single form or genre, giving rise to works that are as varied as they are compelling. Each piece is a new experiment, a new "experience," as she describes it—a testament to her refusal to be confined by traditional artistic boundaries.
Her sculptures, in particular, are a study in contrasts—soft, flowing forms that seem to defy the rigidity of the materials from which they are made. There is a tension in these works, a dialogue between the eternal and the ephemeral, the solid and the fluid. Her ability to manipulate form and material to such expressive ends speaks to a mastery that few can claim.
In an age where art often feels disconnected from the natural world, DeSerres offers a powerful reminder of our intrinsic connection to it. Her works are more than just visual experiences; they are meditations on the beauty, complexity, and vulnerability of the environment. Through her art, DeSerres not only invites us to see the world differently but also challenges us to reconsider our place within it.
Hélène DeSerres is not just an artist; she is an alchemist, transforming the elements of nature into something transcendent and timeless. Her work resonates with a universal language that speaks to the heart, making her one of the most compelling voices in contemporary art today.

The Emotional Symphony of Abstract Art
Goran Makeski’s art captivates not only the eyes but also the soul. His works are a symphony of emotions, where each color, line, and form harmonizes to create a deeply resonant experience. Makeski, influenced by the artistic legacy of his father, has developed a unique style that is unmistakably his own—one that speaks to the viewer on a profound emotional level.
In "Injured Ego",Makeski invites us into a world of introspection. The deep purples and blues are not just colors but emotions solidified in ink, expressing a raw vulnerability intertwined with strength. The dynamic composition reflects the artist’s ability to capture the complexity of the human experience, where moments of pain and resilience coexist. The high-quality photo paper used as the medium enhances the luminosity of the colors, making them almost leap off the surface. The abstract forms seem to swirl and clash, creating a visual tension that mirrors the internal conflict within us all.
"Not From This World", on the other hand, is a journey into the unknown. The painting is a mesmerizing dance of reds, pinks, and blues that feel otherworldly, as if the viewer has been transported to a realm beyond our reality. The fluidity of the lines and the intensity of the colors evoke a sense of wonder and curiosity. Makeski’s intuitive approach to painting is evident here, as he allows his emotions to guide his hand, resulting in a piece that feels both spontaneous and meticulously crafted.
What makes Makeski’s art so compelling is his ability to tap into the universal human experience. His works are not mere representations but reflections of the inner world—rich with emotion, depth, and meaning. By engaging with his art, viewers are invited to explore their own emotions, to connect with the feelings that Makeski so powerfully conveys.
In a time when we often seek clarity and answers, Goran Makeski offers us something far more valuable: the opportunity to embrace the beauty of ambiguity, to find solace in the abstract, and to experience art that speaks directly to the heart.
the stark black background serves as a canvas for the electrifying white lines that swirl and dance across the space. But to describe this as merely a play of light and shadow would be to do it a disservice. Each line, seemingly chaotic, is meticulously placed, creating a dynamic flow that guides the eye across the composition. The viewer is drawn into a vortex of energy, where the fluidity of the lines evokes a sense of movement that is almost palpable.
Harris's ability to manipulate digital media is unparalleled. He has an uncanny knack for creating depth and dimension in a medium that often struggles to escape the confines of the flat screen. In this piece, the interplay of light and dark creates an illusion of three-dimensionality, making the lines appear to leap off the surface and into the space around them. There is a sense of immediacy, a vibrancy that pulses through the work, making it impossible to look away.
What sets Harris apart from his contemporaries is his ability to infuse his work with emotion. The piece is not just a visual experience; it is an emotional journey. There is a sense of tension and release, of chaos and order, that resonates on a deeply personal level. The viewer is not just a passive observer but an active participant in the narrative that unfolds within the lines and shapes. It is a dance of light, yes, but also a dance of the soul.
In the realm of digital artistry, where the lines between reality and abstraction blur, Howard Harris emerges as a beacon of creativity, transforming the ordinary into the extraordinary. His work transcends the limitations of traditional forms, inviting the viewer into a world
where light and movement are not just elements of design but living, breathing entities that tell their own story.
The piece before us, an exquisite example of Harris's mastery, is a visual symphony of contrasts. At first glance,
In a world where digital art can often feel cold and impersonal, Howard Harris has managed to create something that is both profoundly human and infinitely complex. His work is a testament to the power of art to transcend boundaries, to connect us with something greater than ourselves. It is a celebration of life, in all its beauty and complexity, captured in a single, mesmerizing image.
RIC CONN
The Vibrant Lens of Ric Conn: A Bold Exploration of Color and Emotion
Ric Conn’s work doesn’t just invite you into a visual experience; it demands your engagement, enveloping you in a world where color is a language of emotion, and form becomes an expression of the human psyche. In the bold, expressive strokes that define his art, Conn transcends mere representation, creating a visceral dialogue between the viewer and the canvas.
The first painting, where two women stand side by side, is a striking study of contrast and unity. Their postures suggest an unspoken connection, while the vivid, almost unnatural hues of their skin and hair challenge conventional perceptions of the human form. Conn’s use of color is not just aesthetic but symbolic, each shade evoking a different layer of identity, emotion, and experience. The women, though seemingly static, pulse with an inner vibrancy, suggesting that they carry their worlds within them-a theme central to Conn’s exploration of individuality and shared human experience.
The second painting, where a lone figure faces two doors, is equally compelling, capturing a moment of profound internal conflict. The figure’s back is turned to the viewer, allowing the audience to project their own narratives onto the scene. The rough, impasto texture of the painting mirrors the emotional turmoil within, each stroke echoing the complexity of choice and consequence. The doors, painted with symbolic simplicity, represent more than mere paths; they embody the existential decisions we all must confront. Conn’s work here is a meditation on the human condition, using abstraction to universalize a deeply personal moment.
Ric Conn’s art is unapologetically bold, yet deeply sensitive. He deftly uses the canvas to explore themes of identity, choice, and connection, with each piece becoming a mirror reflecting the viewer's own emotional landscape. His fearless use of color and form not only defies artistic convention but redefines it, inviting us to see the world—and ourselves—through a more vibrant, more compassionate lens. Conn’s art is not just to be seen but to be felt, each piece a testament to the power of color and form to capture the complexity of the human experience.
The Elemental Art of Roxy Sora: A Study in Color, Texture, and Wearable Art ROXY SORA
Roxy Sora’s artwork is a striking example of how color, texture, and form can create powerful, emotionally resonant pieces. Her paintings, like the one we see here, are crafted with a careful balance of control and spontaneity. This particular piece showcases a dynamic use of color, where deep blues, purples, and earth tones interact in a way that draws the viewer in, creating a sense of movement and depth.
The painting’s texture is one of its most captivating features. Layers of paint are applied in a way that gives the surface a rich, almost tactile quality. This textural complexity enhances the overall impact of the work, making it not just something to be looked at, but something to be experienced. The colors are expertly blended, yet they maintain their individual vibrancy, contributing to the piece’s overall sense of energy and life.
Roxy Sora’s work is effective because it engages the viewer on both a visual and emotional level. The interplay of colors and textures creates a dynamic
composition that is visually appealing while also provoking thought and feeling. The piece doesn’t try to represent any specific image or scene; instead, it offers an abstract exploration of form and color that allows each viewer to bring their own interpretation to the work.
In addition to her canvas work, Roxy has expanded her artistry into wearable art. "Stemming from a desire to translate my artistry into a new medium, my specialty line Roxana Zubia: From Canvas to Collection was born," she shares. One of the standout pieces from this line is the "Evenings Delight" inspired collection, featuring ponchos, shawls, kimonos, and scarves. Each piece embodies the same vibrant energy and attention to detail that defines her paintings, allowing art lovers to carry a piece of her creativity with them. To explore this collection and more, visit her website at RoxanaZubia.com.
What sets Sora’s art apart is her ability to create works that are both aesthetically pleasing and thought-provoking. The balance she strikes between color and texture results in pieces that are visually stunning and emotionally resonant. Her paintings invite viewers to not just observe, but to engage with the art on a deeper level.
In the end, Roxy Sora’s paintings and wearable art are more than just visual expressions; they are experiences. They remind us of the power of art to communicate and evoke emotion, making her work a significant contribution to contemporary art and fashion.

The Vortex of Color: Ymilse Rangel’s Journey Between Worlds YMILSE RANGEL
Ymilse Rangel’s artistry is a profound exploration of color, emotion, and the unseen connections between the physical and the abstract. Each piece of her work resonates with the vibrant hues of her native Venezuelan rainforest, where the kaleidoscope of nature's palette first sparked her lifelong fascination with color. The vibrant energy of her surroundings as a child finds new life in her abstract paintings, which evoke powerful sensations as much as they depict forms.
Her latest series, "VORTEX," epitomizes this journey. The collection draws the viewer into a swirling dance of reds, blues, and greens that seem to leap off the canvas, demanding attention. These colors, often intensified to their utmost saturation, are not merely decorative but narratively driven. They speak of Ymilse's dual existence—rooted in reality yet always reaching for something beyond.
What makes Ymilse’s work particularly captivating is her ability to infuse her personal history and spiritual insights into each stroke of the brush. Her paintings are a synthesis of the earthly and the ethereal, capturing the moment where the tangible and intangible meet. Her background in traditional healing becomes evident here. The colors on her canvas don’t just represent; they heal, console, and provoke. Each painting is a dialogue between the viewer and the piece, a conversation that invites introspection and reflection.
Ymilse's technique, refined through years of self-education and formal training, masterfully balances spontaneity with control. The dynamic brushstrokes of "VORTEX" suggest movement, yet there is a deliberate compositional harmony that guides the eye across the canvas, urging one to pause and absorb the depth of each color.
Her works have earned her accolades and recognition a testament to her talent and the emotional weight her art carries. Beyond the awards, what truly sets Ymilse apart is her unique perspective—a merging of the vibrant and the serene, the joyful and the sorrowful, the seen and the unseen.
In Ymilse Rangel's art, you don't just view the world differently— you feel it differently. Her work is a vivid reminder that color is more than a visual experience; it’s an emotional one, a spiritual one, and in her hands, it becomes transcendent.

"The
Art of Mitchell Gibson: A Dialogue Between Form and Soul"
Mitchell Gibson is not just a creator; he is an architect of emotions, constructing worlds that transcend the ordinary and pulling viewers into a vortex of visual poetry. His art invites viewers to explore the intricacies of identity, history, and the human spirit. Each piece mediates color, form, and the silent narratives that connect us all.
One cannot gaze upon Gibson’s work without feeling the weight of its profound emotional gravity. His art bridges the gap between the abstract and the real, using a visual language that speaks directly to the soul. The geometric structures and vibrant palettes in his paintings are more than mere aesthetics; they are symbols, carrying the weight of cultural memory, identity, and the enduring quest for self-understanding.
In one striking piece, the juxtaposition of Mondrian-inspired grids with the regal presence of Black figures challenges the viewer to confront the intersections of race, modernity, and tradition. Gibson’s figures stand tall, not as mere subjects, but as emblems of resilience and dignity. Their solemn expressions tell stories of a past that is both personal and collective, a history woven with threads of struggle, triumph, and an unwavering sense of pride.
Gibson’s art is a masterful blend of technique and narrative. His use of form is deliberate, guiding the eye through a maze of lines and shapes that evoke a sense of order amidst chaos. The bursts of color in his work are not just visual accents but emotional cues, each hue resonating with a specific aspect of the human experience. It is as if Gibson is inviting us to see the world through his eyes, to feel the rhythm of his thoughts, and to engage in a silent dialogue with the canvases that speak volumes without uttering a single word.
Gibson’s work is palpable because of its emotional depth. It transcends the boundaries of time and space, making each piece not just a work of art but a living, breathing entity. His ability to blend the old with the new, the abstract with the concrete, and the personal with the universal is a testament to his genius. Mitchell Gibson is not merely creating art; he is crafting a legacy, one brushstroke at a time.
PAUL HARTEL
"The Bold Expressions of Paul Hartel’s Art"
Paul Hartel’s artwork is a striking exploration of human emotion and experience. Drawing from a life that spans multiple cities and cultures, Hartel’s pieces offer a unique perspective on the world, infused with a sense of personal history and global influence. His art, rooted in abstract and neo-expressionist styles, captures the viewer's attention with its bold use of color, form, and texture.
Hartel’s approach to art is refreshingly direct. With a background in psychology and medicine, he brings an analytical yet deeply personal touch to his work. His informal training allows him to break free from conventional techniques, resulting in pieces that are both raw and authentic. Influenced by the likes of DeKooning, Pollock, and Twombly, Hartel’s work echoes the energy and spontaneity of these masters while maintaining a distinct voice of his own.
Using a mix of oils, acrylics, pastels, and charcoal, Hartel creates artworks that are layered and complex, yet accessible. His figures, often abstracted and fragmented, reflect the complexities of human life—its challenges, emotions, and experiences. There’s a clear sense of movement in his work, a dynamic energy that pulls the viewer in and invites them to engage with the art on a deeper level.
Hartel’s pieces are not just about aesthetics; they are about communication. They convey emotions and ideas that are universal, yet deeply personal. Whether displayed in a gallery in New York City or an exhibition in Ireland, his work resonates with viewers by tapping into shared human experiences.
For anyone encountering Paul Hartel’s art, it’s clear that these are not just paintings—they are expressions of a life lived fully and honestly. His work encourages viewers to look beyond the surface and connect with the underlying emotions that drive us all.
Animating the Inflexible: Mary Di Iorio's Vision of Ceramic Metamorphosis"
In her latest collection, Mary Di Iorio redefines the boundaries of ceramics, transforming the once static and inflexible into dynamic, multidimensional expressions. Her work defies convention, moving beyond the expected result of fired clay and breathing life into materials long thought to be confined by their final form.
At first glance, her pieces appear as if they are caught midmotion, oscillating between the past and the present, the fixed and the fluid. Di Iorio challenges the notion that ceramics are simply solid objects to be observed. Instead, she has found a way to animate the inanimate, to infuse a sense of physical movement into each piece that beckons the viewer to engage with it, not as a sculpture, but as a living entity. This gives each piece an uncanny vibrancy—what was once rigid clay now twists, flows, and pulses with energy.
The playfulness of Di Iorio’s work belies its technical mastery. The visible intricacies in the weave-like patterns suggest
both fragility and strength, with light and shadow dancing across the surfaces, reinforcing the illusion of movement. The layers of complexity reveal themselves slowly as one lingers, observing the interplay between solid form and ethereal motion. It is as if the viewer is witnessing a continuous evolution, a metamorphosis that defies time.
Sound, too, is integral to Di Iorio’s artistic process. As her works shift and sway in the digital space, the auditory elements confirm their movement, offering a multisensory experience that further blurs the lines between the physical and the conceptual. This marriage of sound and form reintroduces ceramics to the contemporary world, positioning it as an art form and a dialogue between the material and the immaterial.
With every piece, Mary Di Iorio extends an invitation—to reimagine the possibilities of clay, to see beyond its physical constraints, and to embrace the unexpected. It’s a celebration of change, an exploration of form that remains perpetually in flux, much like life itself.
"Unlocking the Dimensions of Imagination: The Rivismo of Ramón Rivas" RAMÓN RIVAS
“Face with Spherical Look” Mixed media-Rivismo, 70.8’’x76.7’’
In the world of contemporary art, where boundaries often blur, Ramón Rivas Nieto stands as a bold visionary whose work transcends the confines of the ordinary. Born in the rich cultural soil of Castilla-La Mancha, the same land that inspired the novel of Don Quixote, Ramón Rivas brings forth a new form of expressionism through his self-defined style, Rivismo. His art, deeply rooted in a multigenerational lineage of creative and professional endeavors, weaves together an unparalleled symphony of disciplines—engineering, music, sports, and visual art.
Experiential
Rivas' work, a complex fusion of mixed media, invites viewers into an experiential journey, one that challenges the traditional interaction between observer and painting. His large-scale compositions seem to pulse with life, beckoning audiences not merely to observe but to move through the space his works create, to become an active participant in the storytelling woven into every intricate detail. The fluid movement of lines, the interplay of geometric precision, and organic chaos create an almost architectural framework that bridges reality and abstraction. His work elevates form, color, and texture, combining them in a way that stirs the imagination and heightens the senses.
Yet, it is not the physical structure alone that captivates, but the profoundly emotive undertones that bubble beneath the surface. Rivas' work has a palpable energy—a tension that demands contemplation and reflection. Each viewing offers a new discovery and interpretation, echoing Ramón’s belief that art is a living, breathing entity that grows and evolves with each passerby. Rivismo, then, is not just a style; it is an invitation to connect with the boundless potential of the human mind.
In every piece, Ramón’s unique voice—honed through years of study and exploration—comes through with profound clarity, adding beauty and meaning to the world of contemporary art. Rivismo is a declaration of the marriage between artist and observer, between material and spirit, and through it, Ramón Rivas has created a new space where creativity reigns supreme.

THE FASHION INDUSTRY'S PATH TO A GREENER FUTURE SUSTAINABLE THREADS:
by Tracey Chailin
The fashion industry, long known for its substantial environmental footprint, is finally embracing change. As global awareness of climate change heightens, brands are rethinking their role in contributing to environmental degradation. Traditionally, fashion has been responsible for up to 10% of global carbon emissions and extensive water consumption, but a new era of sustainability is emerging, driven by eco-conscious consumers and innovative technologies.
The Shift to Sustainability
Sustainability is no longer a niche concept but an essential evolution in fashion. Companies are embracing the circular economy—where waste is minimized, and products are reused or recycled. Organic cotton, hemp, and recycled materials are becoming the new standard, while ethical manufacturing practices are gaining momentum. Brands are now integrating transparency throughout their supply chains, allowing consumers to trace their garments from farm to wardrobe.
Eco-Friendly Materials
“Fashion is not something that exists in dresses only. Fashion is in the sky, in the street, fashion has to do with ideas, the way we live, what is happening.” – Coco Chanel
The shift toward organic cotton and hemp represents a crucial step in reducing the industry’s environmental impact. Organic cotton eliminates the use of harmful pesticides and promotes soil health through regenerative agriculture. Hemp, requiring minimal water and pesticides, grows rapidly and improves soil health. Both fibers can be combined with recycled polyester, offering versatile options for sustainable fashion.
Innovation and Circularity
Recycled and upcycled materials are at the heart of innovation in fashion. Brands like Patagonia and Elvis & Kresse are trailblazers, focusing on durability, quality, and the reuse of materials like fire hoses and denim. By transforming waste into valuable products, these companies lead the way in building a truly circular fashion economy. Meanwhile, second-hand and vintage shopping is seeing a resurgence, further extending the life of clothing and reducing waste.
Reducing Water and Carbon Footprints
“Sustainability is about being responsible for the impact of our actions on the environment, on society, and on future generations.” – Christina Dean
One of fashion’s most pressing challenges is water usage. Low-impact dyeing methods and the adoption of recycled cotton, such as Recover™ fiber, help mitigate water consumption and pollution. Additionally, smart manufacturing technologies—like AI-driven systems—are enhancing efficiency, reducing waste, and allowing for on-demand production, which cuts down on excess stock and resource usage.
The Road Ahead
“Fashion is not just about creating beautiful clothes; it’s about creating a better world.” – Orsola de Castro
The fashion industry has made significant strides toward sustainability, but challenges remain. Scaling ecofriendly innovations across global supply chains and reducing reliance on fossil fuel-based materials are ongoing hurdles. However, with continued innovation, responsibility, and support from consumers, the industry can achieve a balance between profitability and environmental stewardship. The future of fashion is both beautiful and sustainable, but it will take collective effort to fully realize this vision.
