Artus Lab

In 1997, ARTUS Company established an art laboratory in Budapest for contemporary Hungarian art, called ARTUS Lab. This project involves 32 dancers, choreographers, actors, stage and costume designers, composers, painters, architects and sculptors share a 2000m2-sized space. They share not only the space, but also their art, thus inspiring one another’s works. They explore new directions to transcend the boundaries of individual art forms and about new forms of cooperation. Artus Company has about 70 performances a year, half of this at Artus Lab, the other half is taken up by invitations from festivals and theatres in Hungary and abroad, in France, Austria, Great Britain, Egypt, the Netherlands, Russia, Germany amongst many other places.
