these are the places he visits on a weekly basis. his weekly activities include going to the park, visiting his friend, going grocery shopping, the usual, mundane boring activities of an old person.

Previously a gardner, His 65th birthday and aching joints stripped him of that pleasure. He gardens, but no more does he earn material comfort from his hobby. Does that really matter? it matters to mr Winston.

Well, he volunteers. He watches TV. He visits his brother, he warms his own meals. He particularly enjoys watching animations. A bugs life! He imagines the days he worked Up! Now widowed, he finds an escape in the floating escape of the old man.


A flyers been slipped under his door, addressed to him. A talk and discussion with students from the University of edinburgh. Cake, coffee and conversation.

Young adults and the elderly, in equal proportion. In a room. a sight rarely seen. Conversations about technology, the mystery surrounding it, family, and dreams take place.

As they test out the Diorama, which is a carefully crafted board game allowing the elderly to carry out their chores in the real or virtual world. A thoughtful conversation flows, and a particular line sticks with Asad 15

he walks up to the giant steal structures which host stairs and an elevator. A green jungle heavily planted. other people his age sit on the steps, reading, laughing.


As he stands in the Jungle Circulation Tower, He spots the same Invitation letter from the Interaction with the University students. He picks up and reads it. it says.... 43

There is a strange Cabinet at the End of this Long Narrow apartment. He enters it. 47

he walks into the cabiniet. The floor trembles. There is movement. He feels uncomfortable. he’s taking off

The shadow he saw earlier lurks above him now. There is a Zepplin that has dropped down pulleys and Attached the Cabinet on to it. He’s up in the AIr!!!!!!! 49

Hes in Iceland! A place He had always wanted to visit! He collects a post card and an item to keep in his cabinet!


Hes in Spain next, then in Croatia. hes amazed! He collects souvenirs from each place. The cabinet from edinburgh plugs into a branch of the apartment building in each of these places. a new place but he’s got a part of home with him. 51

He’s back in corstorphine. But in a much nicer environment. young people picnicing in the new terrace gardens and Theres people coming from all over Edinburgh to check his souvenir collection in what he calls HIS very own of curiosity

Hes woken up now. The dream was all too real. He’s glad he dreamt a dream so vast. But then he spots a post card from switzerland on his bedside table. Was it a dream?
