The Position
Guided by the School's Mission and Core Values, ASB's Middle & High School Principal leads students, faculty, and staff to foster an engaging climate of educational excellence and effectively manage the middle and high school's day-to-day operations for students in grades 6 to 12 As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, the Middle & High School Principal is flexible and nimble in their approach, evolving and inspiring colleagues while maintaining confidentiality and ethical integrity with self-knowledge, values, beliefs, and standards They embrace the diversity of ASB and Mumbai by moving beyond the classroom walls and encouraging students to maximize their impact on the community.

The American School of Bombay (ASB) has been providing an outstanding education to diplomatic and expatriate families based in Mumbai, India for over 40 years Founded in 1981, ASB is a nonprofit Pre-K to Grade 12 day school, and fully accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools ASB is authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme and Diploma Programme With over 200 staff, including 140 educational staff, ASB’s 600+ students engage in a holistic curricular and co-curricular program that emphasizes challenge, wellbeing, inclusivity, and self-directedness
The Middle & High School Principal reports to the Head of School and is a member of ASB’s Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Elementary School Principal, Director of Student Support, and Director of Operations and Finance to strategically and tactically lead schoolwide educational and operational initiatives The Middle & High School Leadership Team includes the Middle School Associate Principal, High School Associate Principal, and MS & HS Curriculum Coordinator/IBDP Coordinator. Pre-K to 12 leaders and MS and HS staff who lead various program initiatives also contribute to the ongoing development of middle and high schools

Middle & High School Program
The Middle and High School Programs at ASB provide comprehensive curricular and co-curricular experiences for every child Learning experiences are designed to help students flourish today and pursue their interests and passions. Middle school students are immersed in an environment designed to meet the needs of an adolescent learner The concept-based curriculum integrates the development of content knowledge and understanding with skill development. In high school, students select from academically rigorous course offerings that engage them in deep and meaningful study In addition to graduating with the credit-based ASB Diploma, over 90% of students in grades 11 and 12 pursue the IB Diploma, choosing from a wide range of subjects that prepare them for their post-secondary pursuits Wellbeing is a key area of focus in both middle and high school, with an advisory program that supports students in building relationships with key adults, connecting with classmates, and learning what they need as individuals in order to thrive
Co-curricular offerings at ASB expand and enhance the experiences of every student. Middle and high schoolers represent ASB on competitive sports teams and participate in international tournaments through ASIAC and SAISA leagues. Competitions and festivals ensure that those passionate about visual arts, music, robotics, Model United Nations members, and student leadership have multiple opportunities to represent ASB in local, regional, and international events as well. Through the Community and Social Responsibility program, middle and high school students work with partner organizations as well as launch their own self-directed initiatives in service to the wider Mumbai community.
