In alignment with the American School of Bombay’s commitment to being an intentionally inclusive school that strives to meet the needs of a full range of learners, the Director of Student Support will oversee and enhance all aspects of student support services As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, they will provide strategic oversight and align student support services across divisions. The Director of Student Support oversees the Individualized Learner Support, English as an Additional Language, and High Ability programs, drawing on their expertise in implementing multi-tiered support systems, universal designs for learning, instructional coaching models, special education programs, and counseling.

The Director of Student Support reports to the Head of School and is a member of ASB’s Senior Leadership Team, working collaboratively with the Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Elementary School Principal, Middle & High School Principal, and Director of Operations and Finance to strategically and tactically lead school-wide educational and operational initiatives The Director of Student Support will oversee the school psychologist, EAL Coordinator, occupational therapist, and speech and language pathologist and ILS teachers, and will work closely with the divisional leadership teams and counselling teams to develop and implement personalized learning experiences for students from Pre-K to Grade 12

INDIVIDUAL PATHWAYS
Collaborate with Learning Support Teachers to develop individual learning pathways and required supports for students while coaching educators as needed.
LEAD PROFESSIONAL LEARNING
Design, develop, and lead professional learning workshops, trainings, and planning sessions that elevate educator skills and knowledge
DATA-DRIVEN DECISION MAKING
Establish and enhance systems for monitoring student progress and facilitating smooth grade transitions using data insights Prepare reports to communicate findings to stakeholders and implement universal screening tools for proactive student support.
ALIGNMENT

Serve as a key member of the Crisis Response and Safeguarding Teams, providing expertise and support during critical incidents Ensure relevant processes and systems are in place and effectively communicated across the school to maintain a safe and secure environment.

Assist the Leadership and Mental Health Teams in managing crises such as death, illness, or trauma lead Threat Assessments in partnership with counselors.
