PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE

Our March Newsletter is here and as is standard for this time of year, we have some key events that we have been advertising regularly including our Annual ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch Awards Banquet, and the ASCE MidPacific Regional Competition to be hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno. The Annual ASCE Awards and Student Recognition Banquet will be held in banquet room Capri 3-4, at the Peppermill Resort in Reno, from 5:30 pm to 8:30 pm, on March 8th, 2016. Please note that Capri 3-4 is a banquet room change from previously published information for this event. If any of you would like to make a last minute reservation to attend, please contact our banquet coordinator, Dan Stucky, or any other board member for assistance. The other key event this year is the ASCE Mid-Pacific Regional Conference hosted by the University of Nevada, Reno and held April 7-9, 2016. This conference consists of many competitions that will test the participant’s abilities in design, analysis and practical application. Most importantly for our ASCE membership, local professionals within the civil engineering community are needed to judge the competitions. If you are interested, please contact Evan Jordan (see page 3), our Mid-Pacific Chair at UNR. Please join us at the Annual ASCE Awards and Student Recognition Banquet to meet our guest speaker- Eric Edelstein of the Reno Aces, to award deserving students a few scholarships, and also celebrate the achievements of local engineers and the projects they designed.

Best Regards, John Bonnett, P.E. President, ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch
