PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE November is election month and the upcoming election is a big one for our country and for our local state and communities. I would like to encourage all of our members to get out there and vote! Regardless of what side you are supporting, your voice cannot be heard without your vote. Go vote! The Nevada Section of ASCE is actively working on implementing and developing a government affairs committee and is seeking ways to make an impact. If anyone would like more interest on this subject, please drop me an email and I will gladly put you in touch with the committee chair. They are looking for a couple more Northern Nevada members so your input and contribution would be incredibly appreciated. The next national ASCE Fly-In will be held in Washington DC in March 2017. There, our Nevada delegates will get to meet with national legislators to discuss pertinent issues to our communities and to our profession. If you are interested in this event and in possibly attending, please let us know and we can help you get involved. As we enter into the holiday season, and with Thanksgiving quickly approaching, I would like to thank all of you for your ASCE membership and continued support of our branch, its board of directors, our luncheons and our numerous events. We couldn’t do it without you! Thank you for all that you do! Amber Lynn Sosa President, ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch
