PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE
Welcome Spring 2017! I hope you are all starting to enjoy the warmer weather and the extended hours of daylight as much as I am! Our annual ASCE Awards and Student Recognition Banquet was held at the Peppermill on March 9, 2017 and I am so excited to tell you that it was one of our largest and best supported banquets yet with over 190 attendees. Through the generosity of our banquet sponsors and the hard work of our banquet committee, the event was immensely enjoyable and successful! Congratulations to all of this year’s award winners and thank you to everyone for your support! ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch and the ASCE Young Member Forum are introducing a new event this year! Friday, April 7, 2017 will be the 1st Annual Student Office Crawl. A number of companies throughout the area will be opening up their doors in an open-house style event to introduce students to our local engineering community. I am personally very excited about this event and look forward to seeing its outcome! Another big event coming up is the 17th Annual Marv Byars Memorial Golf Tournament set for Friday July 14, 2017 to be held at Arrow Creek Golf Course. This event is instrumental in raising money for the Student Chapter at UNR and each year ends up being a fun filled day of golfing and getting out with colleagues. Please be on the lookout for emails and website updates for this upcoming event!
As always, if you have any questions about anything going on, do not hesitate to contact me!
