President’s Message

Happy Holidays! The time is almost here for us all to take a step back and reflect on this year’s challenges and accomplishments. To realize how we’ve grown as professionals, changed as an industry, and where we strive to make improvements in the following year.

If you have a New Year’s Resolution, we would love to hear what you have come up with! Be it personal, professional, or anywhere else in your life send us your New Year’s Resolutions and we’ll post them in our January Newsletter; all responses will be kept confidential unless you tell us otherwise. Please send responses to ricera@reno.gov.

Don’t forget about our joint ASCE/APWA on December 11th, 2018 at the Atlantis Casino. Every December the Truckee Meadows Branch of ASCE partners with the local APWA chapter to host a joint luncheon and support a local charity. This year’s charity is the Eddy House which aims to reduce or eliminate youth homelessness in our area. The folks at APWA do a great job putting this luncheon together so thank you from all of us at ASCE!

The joint luncheon also has a raffle with great prizes. Tickets for the raffle will be available for purchase at the luncheon or you can bring donations to the Eddy House in exchange for raffle tickets. Donation requests can be found in this month’s newsletter; see the included event flyer. I look forward to seeing everyone at the luncheon.

This will also serve as the last reminder to get your sponsorship forms filled out and sent in by December 15th. If you are interested in becoming a new sponsor or are returning sponsors please do your best to get your forms turned in and don’t forget to include your high quality .PNG / .JPG logos. We have sponsorships for all budgets and are aimed to get you exposure to our members. In addition, our branch relies on your generous sponsorship to enhance and continue our branch activities including: networking opportunities and socials, PE review courses, student scholarships, our Annual Awards and Student Recognition Banquet and much more.

For those of you who have already submitted your sponsorship commitments, thank you from all of us on the Board. We couldn’t do this without your support! As always if you have any questions about the sponsorship opportunities please don’t hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes to all and have a safe and prosperous new year.
