The Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority (RTAA) is seeking an experienced professional engineer or architect to join the Engineering and Construction team to provide program level project management for major Capital Improvement Projects at the Reno-Tahoe International Airport (RNO) and the Reno-Stead Airport. The Senior Project Manager reports to the Manager of Engineering and Construction, and is responsible for organizing and directing complex projects. The work involves coordinating and directing the activities and personnel involved in the implementation and completion of capital projects and contracts including, but not limited to, planning, programming, design, stakeholder coordination, scheduling, construction management, procurement, contract documents, legal aspects, budget, construction compliance and contract administration. The nature of the work requires a significant level of self-directed technical proficiency, judgment, and initiative; and the ability to analyze problems, identify solutions, and implement recommendations in support of organizational goals and objectives. Background: While Reno has long been known as the gateway to the Lake Tahoe region, it is moving well beyond a tourism destination. Tech giants such as Tesla, Switch, Panasonic, Apple, Google and Amazon have propelled the northern Nevada region in new and exciting directions. The region is experiencing an evolution that includes not only significant job growth, but also a revitalization of Reno’s midtown district. New trends in dining, a thriving local craft beer scene, and an expansion of non-gaming entertainment are drawing increasing numbers of visitors and new residents to the region. In 2017, RNO served over 4 million enplaned passengers, an increase of 10% versus 2016. Passengers are fairly affluent and reflect an approximate 50/50 mix of both business and leisure travelers equally distributed between the two concourses. In order to meet increasing growth, RNO is currently in the midst of finalizing a 20-year Master Plan.
ENTRY SALARY: $69,997 - $88,022 annually, with opportunity for additional merit-based increases up to a range maximum of $106,046. Initial salary placement will be based upon experience and qualifications. This is a salaried position and is exempt from overtime. BENEFITS: The RTAA offers a competitive wage and benefit package, which includes 100% employer paid contributions to a distinct, defined benefit retirement program (Nevada PERS), and this position is exempt from contributions to Social Security. Nevada has no state income tax, and Reno has a comparatively low property tax rate. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Construction Management, or Architecture, and current registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect from any state. Experience: Seven (7) years of professional level experience as a licensed professional in the fields of engineering, construction, or architecture. Licensing: Registration as a Professional Engineer or Registered Architect. A valid driver's license at the time of application.

Must be able to effectively use AutoCAD Civil 3D for plan and profiles, site grading, corridors, gravity and sewer pipe networks, survey points, and have overall basic CAD skills. Must have a minimum of 7 years’ experience in engineering analysis and design of water distribution and wastewater collection facilities. can manage interdisciplinary design teams with minimal supervision. Must be self-motivated individual possessing strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, along with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks. Must have experience in providing construction support services, such as change in field conditions resolution, representing agencies at field meetings, and observation of construction. Various hydrologic and hydraulic software platforms used in the planning and design of infrastructure is a plus. We are currently seeking a Professional Engineer to join our team in a senior design role. This individual will primarily manage the structural analysis and design of large custom products as well as modified standards. This individual will also be responsible for the review of designs produced by other team members within the engineering department. When necessary, this individual will affix their engineering seal to structural calculations and shop drawings.
