We are committed to bringing you quality presentations, community outreach opportunities, learning opportunities (including PDH credits and PE review courses),andsocialevents.Webelievethat our ASCE group is very unique due to the close connection between our Younger Members Forum (YMF) and our branch. ASCE Truckee Meadows is a proud supporterofthestudentchapterofASCEat the University of Nevada, Reno and has helped to develop an environment where engineers graduate into YMF and then continue to remain active with the branch. We are proud supporters of the Concrete Canoe Team, Steel Bridge Team, and other various Civil Engineering competitions. We believethefutureofourprofessionisheld withinthebrightyoungmindsthatwillone daybeinourshoesandthatiswhyitisour goal to foster creative thinking and communityinvolvement.

President's Message

I can’t believe I’m about to say it, but school is about to be back in session! I hope all your little ones have a safe and successful start to the new school year. If you are not a parent, please remember to drive slow and watch out for those school zones With summer fleeting, drivers tend to get complacent and drive fast where posted speeds are now changing in school zones

I want to thank everyone that made it out to our 19th annual Marv Byars’ Memorial Golf Tournament; we sold out! Your support and participation is what keeps the Board moving and your generosity is the heart and soul of our engineering community The money made at the tournament helps fund our student engineering competition teams, so thank you from all of us on the Board.

By now, you should have seen the election polling for the next team of ASCE Truckee Meadows Branch Board Members ready to serve you Please take 30 seconds to vote for our officers I have personally served with all of them and know they will continue to serve our group with passion and candor. This is also a great time to reach out to any one of your Board Members to let us know how your experience is going What can we do to improve your experience? We are open to constructive criticism and are grateful for any input you are willing to provide

Just because school is in, doesn’t mean our festivities are out. Keep a lookout for a number of technical tours, socials, the PE Review course, and many other activities as we head towards the final stretch of summer

This month’s speaker is Dr. Erin Oksol who is married to our very own Board Member Garth Oksol. She will be speaking about ramping up your own productivity, understanding how high performers operate, and learning strategies to increase your success I’m looking forward to it and I hope you are too See you all there

President Elect Current nomination: Garth Oksol

President Elect shall act in place of the President when the President is unavailable The President Elect shall also serve as the Vice Chair, attend all meetings of the TMB Board, and shall assume duties as delegated by the President. Once elected, the president elect will serve for three years. One year as President Elect, one year as President, and a third year as Past President

Treasurer Current nomination: Brian Moon The Treasurer is responsible for monitoring the funds of the TMB, assisting in preparation of the TMB's annual budget and submission of TMB's annual tax return, report periodically to the TMB Board, provide an annual financial report to the TMB Board, and attend all meetings of the TMB

Secretary Current nomination: Mike Davidson

Secretary shall attend all meetings of the TMB Board of Directors and serve as secretary at all meetings. The Secretary shall keep the minutes of TMB meetings and shall be responsible for the membership database of the TMB The Secretary shall also assume other duties as delegated by the President
