OUR MISSION I CONNECT PEOPLE TO NATURE
Nestled amid beautiful lakes and hardwood forests, the Anne Springs Close Greenway is a nature park located minutes south of Charlotte, in Fort Mill, SC. Its 2,100 acres serve as a natural buffer from urban development and provide a wide-open space for countless activities, from hiking, biking and horseback riding to picnics, kayaking and more.
The children of Anne Springs Close donated the land in honor of their mother’s lifelong commitment to recreation and conservation. More than twice the size of Central Park, the Greenway offers a 40-mile network of trails, half a dozen lakes and ponds, a section of Steele Creek, along with acres of meadow and Piedmont prairie, hardwood forests and native wildlife habitats. The land has ties to the Catawba Nation and the Civil War, and it is home to remnants of the historic Nation Ford Road.
Today, the Greenway boasts new amenities such as Greenway Gateway and Gateway Canteen, which serve as a welcome center and fastcasual restaurant. Both modern and historic facilities dot the acreage, which are utilized for weddings and special events. As a non-profit organization, the Anne Springs Close Greenway depends on memberships, recreation programs and donors for support of its annual operations.
Connect people to nature through recreational and educational activities while fostering a passion for environmental conservation, animal habitat, and protection of natural resources.
Anne Springs Close Greenway is a brand of Leroy Springs & Co., established in 1938 as a 501(c)3 nonprofit. EIN: 57-0344121
