Bringing Leaders Together to Focus on the Future

ASC 2021 Leadership Conference

Letter from the Chair Fellow Industry Peers: I am delighted to invite you to join me in Orlando, Florida, this October 27-29 for the 4th Annual ASC Executive Leadership Conference at the Omni Orlando Resort at ChampionsGate. ASC’s Executive Leadership Conference is where the senior executives of the adhesive and sealant industry meet each year to network and discuss important issues impacting the industry. This event is a favorite of mine because it provides a fantastic opportunity to connect with leaders across the industry and hear from thought leaders on the latest industry trends. This year’s theme is “Focus on the Future,” and the speaker program once again includes an impressive list you won’t want to miss. Among this year’s discussion topics are:

• Providing Value to the Adhesives Industry Through Sustainability • The Importance of Customer Value • Disruption & Innovation in Our Post-COVID World • Growth Investments in the Adhesives & Sealants Market • Trade Policy Outlook in the Global Chemicals Industry • Current Business Environment for Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG)

In addition to our programmed discussion, numerous networking opportunities are planned throughout the two-day event, including receptions and dinners, a golf outing, and off-site excursions for attendees and spouses. The safety of our members and industry peers is of utmost importance, therefore the ASC and the conference venue will be following the latest applicable guidelines. Masks and hand sanitizer will be available and social distancing procedures in event and meeting spaces will follow local and state requirements. After being apart for an extended period, ASC’s Executive Leadership Conference is the perfect opportunity to reconnect with fellow industry executives! I hope you are as excited as I am about this first in-person ASC event since October 2019 and will join me this October as we focus on the future of our industry together. I look forward to seeing you in Orlando!

Sincerely,

Heather Campe

10:15 to 10:45 a.m. Break 10:45 to 11:30 a.m. T he Importance of Customer Value Andy Tometich, Executive Vice President, Hygiene, Health and Consumable Adhesives, H.B. Fuller Company If your strategy has a client-centric foundation, that’s already a good start, but the question is: are you fostering a customer value mindset across your organization? Knowing what your customer truly needs and why is it important for your success should be a top priority. Customer value is commonly defined as the perception of what a product or service is worth to a customer against their possible alternatives. But the truth is many companies still focus too much on their product features, rather than the benefits they provide to customers. While product and price are still important, selling solely based on these aspects is no longer enough to succeed in today’s economy. What customers really need from their suppliers is for them to understand the real value the product or service promises to deliver and how it addresses the customer’s job to be done better than the next best alternative. In this session, we will not only talk about what customer value is and why it matters, but where do you start? We will review practical steps that organizations can take to shift to a value mindset, who is involved, and how to measure your progress.

11:30 a.m. to Noon Open Discussion and Q&A Bill Allmond, President, Adhesive and Sealant Council ASC President Bill Allmond will moderate an open discussion and Q&A session between attendees and the morning session speakers.

Noon to 1:00 p.m.

He will also illustrate how ‘trickle-up’ policies that benefit the largest downstream customers of chemicals – agriculture, building and construction, and automotive – can also strengthen the chemical industry’s ability to grow and create jobs by increasing demand for its products.
