Acosy duvet, a cold and dark start to the morning and the urge to hit snooze just one more time. If this sounds like you, you’re not alone. That’s why we’re bringing the gym to a spare room, lounge or kitchen near you with an array of t-tastic kit and accessories to have you working up a sweat in no time. So whether you’re a gym newbie* and want to move more this year, or perhaps you don’t have time on your side and struggle to get gym sessions in the diary, having a few key pieces of equipment to hand will help you start 2023 in a way that’s going to work for you – burpees optional. Here are our recommendations below, plus some hardware on the right…

Go loopy Weighted hula hoop (1.2kg), £10 Who says hulas are just for kids? Get in a spin and the heart racing at the same time – you’ll forget you’re working out.

1. Born to run Phone armband, £4 It’s all about ‘hands-free’ when you’re clocking up the miles. Choose that playlist… 2. Skip to it Weighted skipping rope, £4 Cue the Rocky theme tune… Skipping provides a pretty high-intensity workout, so it’s great if you’ve got a short window of time. 3. On the move Waist pouch, £5 Whether you’re on a quick 5k, a crosscountry jog or a walk around the block, this chic bum-bag is much better than tucking your key in your sock or under the doormat! 4. Lift like a pro Dumbbells, from £9 Even if you’re new to strength training, incorporating some simple movements using dumbbells can be beneficial.

Saved by the kettlebell Kettlebell, from £5 If you get one piece of equipment, then it’s this little guy. A kettlebell is super versatile, so you can use it for swings, squats, wall sits and more. 4

Have a ball Medicine ball (5kg), £10 A great addition to Russian twists and other core exercises, and also the perfect way to get a sweat on with some ball slams – just make sure you don’t wake the neighbours!
