Academic Level Entry Requirements

The Association of Business Executives (ABE) is a professional membership body and an examination board. ABE qualifications provide progression routes to degree and Masters programmes worldwide.

ABE was founded by a group of politicians, educators and businessmen in 1973 and since remain specialists in business qualifications and now have students and members in over 100 countries. ABE are committed to offering qualifications that are relevant, recognised and respected.

QCF Level 4 to 6

Applicants must have obtained one of the following: Two level 3 passes (‘A’ level standard) A level 3 qualification, or above, as notified on the NQF or QCF of the United Kingdom. Such qualifications should entail a similar number of learning hours to that of the ABE certificate. *** Overseas qualifications, as judged by UK NARIC, to be equivalent in standard to a level 3 qualification in the UK, and entailing a similar number of learning hours to that of the ABE certificate.***

In addition ABE welcomes applications for student membership from intending Diploma candidates who, although not holding a formal entry qualification, have been in appropriate employment for at least two years. A signed reference letter from employers must accompany all such applications.

Two GCE A levels or any Level 3 equivalent together with four GCSEs at Grade C or above, including English and Mathematics BTEC National Diploma Three passes at LCCI level 3 City & Guilds/Pitman qualifications – three passes at professional/NVQ Level 3 An ‘Access’ Certificate from a UK College of Further Education Any NVQ qualifications at Level 3

Advanced Diploma in Business Studies Institute of Commercial Management (ICM) The Institute is the leading professional body for Commercial and Business Development Managers. Supporting career and personal development as well as mobility, the Institute’s educational programmes and qualifying examinations provide recognised qualifications for persons to work in the commercial management business and industrial sectors. Membership is open to those who complete the relevant degree level qualifying examinations. The Institute is also a recognised international examining and awarding body for students undertaking general business and management studies and examines and certifies candidates to an internationally consistent standard.

Entry Requirements The Institute operates an ‘Open Entry’ policy in respect of many of its vocational programmes but prospective students should note that the following entrance qualifications are recommended for those wishing to undertake the Diploma and Advanced Diploma programmes: Diploma in Business Studies

The minimum age for registration for this programme is 17. The ICM Business Studies Group Certificate The ICM Certificate in Commercial Studies One GCE A-level plus Three GCSEs (or equivalents) Five GCSEs at grades A, B or C (or equivalents) A suitable BTEC National Award Any qualification equivalent to one of the above.

Applicants over the age of 19 who do not hold any one of the recommended entrance qualifications may also register for the programme providing they have been in full-time employment for a minimum of two years. Advanced Diploma in Business Studies

Graduate Diploma in Business Management & Marketing London Centre of Marketing (LCM)

Qualification Structures Higher Diploma

The London Centre of Marketing is an international awarding body providing high quality global education and training services, which raise performance standards for business, encourage lifetime learning and provide professional status for individuals. This course is designed for those who wish to embark on a career in Marketing and need to obtain a recognised qualification.

Academic Level: QCF Level 4 – 6 Applicants must have obtained: Business qualification (or other related subject) at level 3 or higher. For direct entry to Higher Diploma, applicants must have obtained: Diploma in Business Management & Marketing or equivalent. For direct entry to Professional Diploma, applicants must have obtained: Higher Diploma in Business Management & Marketing or equivalent. For direct entry to Graduate Diploma, applicants must have obtained: Professional Diploma in Business Management & Marketing or equivalent.

Course Structure Candidates must attempt a minimum of four modules per level. Three modules are compulsory, and the candidate must complete at least one of the two optional modules successfully before the Award can be issued.
