CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to todays game against our visitors Radford FC and may I extend a very special and warm welcome to our good friends from Radford FC and their players, officials and supporters and hope you enjoy our hospitality. With only 4 games left to play this season, I hope the players continue to push themselves and see these games as the start of their pre-season and making the claim for a place in next seasons squads. It is all too easy to say that we have nothing to play for with these latter few games, but I am sure that the management team will continue to instil their wishes to the players in preparation for next seasons push. The game on Tuesday, away at Sherwood was a first trip for us and me and they have a good set up too. The game itself was probably one of the best halves I have seen the players play this season and were extremely unlucky to not come away with at least a draw. The final home game for the first team is on Bank Holiday Monday 22nd April against Ingles and we hope that you can all join us for what could prove a great final game. Ironically, we last saw the officials from Radford FC at our game a few weeks ago when they made the trip to watch us following their game being cancelled at Ingles and from a personal point of view it was fantastic to see the Officials of Radford FC chose Ashby Ivanhoe FC as a club to visit and just goes to show how well respected they are, here at the club and how well they represent their club and your visit was much appreciated fellas. The clubs annual presentation day will be held on Saturday 11th May at the ground and spectators are more than welcome to come along and join the evening. The whole club will be holding their presentation day that day from our Under 7s through to the Seniors with proceedings starting from 1pm so feel free to pop along and show all the teams your support. Over the course of the next few weeks you may also see some of our youth teams playing here on the main pitch as they have been given the opportunity to play their last game on the pitch. This is a further example of how joined up we are as a club and it will be a good experience for the players and coaches too, I am sure. Please keep your eyes peeled on social media for the days and kick off times and entry is FREE so come along and see some of our future players playing at the ground. The Bar is now open every Friday 4pm-8pm, Saturday 1pm – 7pm and Sunday 2pm – 7pm in preparation for the Summer period where we aim to open our new catering unit outside along with new patio furniture, which has been funded from the last 2 Horse Racing Day profits, so thank you to all of you that supported those events. All that remains is to wish the team the very best today and hope that you all enjoy your afternoon. Regards Stuart Bonser Club Chairman

FIRST TEAM UPDATE Hello to you all.
Today is our penultimate home game as we welcome Radford to the NFU.
Our results of late have been poor to say the least but the games have enabled Pete, Rich and myself to observe the playing staff further. Currently our development as a group is more important than results and we remain confident that things will turn around in time.
Our last game against Sherwood showed some promise from most players and we feel that there is still potential with the majority of this group.
The challenge today is to improve on Tuesday's efforts and continue the work that we do.
That goes for everyone involved as we all strive to develop and better ourselves and the football club.
Enjoy your afternoon and i sincerely hope you leave the ground entertained.
Andy Gray 1st Team Manager

IN OPPOSITION TODAY Radford FC The club was Founded in 1964 as Manlove & Alliots FC. The club played in the Nottinghamshire Sunday league. Manlove & Alliots were an Engineering firm situated in Radford. After the firm transferred to Scotland in 1970/71, the club carried on under the name of Radford Olympic FC. In 1977 Radford Olympic became the first amateur side in Britain to be allowed to wear advertising on their shirts and the BBC Television cameras came along to Melbourne Park and filmed one of our matches and interviewed officials for the evening programme "Nationwide". In 1978 the club formed a ground development committee and decided to seek out a piece of land preferably in the Radford area for development of our own ground. Radford Olympic transferred to Saturday Football in 1979-80 joining the Central Alliance. The following season the club joined the East Midlands Regional League. Olympic moved into the Selhurst Street ground for season 1981-82. In season 1982/83 Olympic finished Champions of Division One of the East Midlands Regional League. In 1983/84 a move to the Central Midlands League saw them win the Central Midlands League Senior Cup. In 1987 Radford Olympic were renamed Radford F.C. At the end of 2002/03 Radford were promoted to the Supreme Division of the Central Midlands League and in their first season in the top flight finished 11th. After holding their own during seasons 2003/04 & 2004/05 in the top division of the Central Midlands League, the club delivered silverware in season 2005/06 under the guidance of Julian Garmston and assistant Pete Kelley, winning the C.M.L Phoenix Trophies floodlight Cup. New floodlighting and 1st phase ground improvements were actioned that season with Notts County providing a team to officially turn on the lights. Radford FC joined the East Midlands Counties League in 2008 and finished 14th in their first season. The club qualified to play in the FA Cup for the first time in 2009-10 but went out 0-1 in the Extra Preliminary Round to Rainworth MW. The club achieved a finishing position of third in 2014-15 under manager Glenn Russell, after putting together an unbeaten run of 19 league games. Radford improved on their third spot by becoming EMCL runners up in 2015-16. The club thrashed Anstey Nomads 6-0 to win the EMCL League Cup in 2018.

KNIGHTS U16 TEAM
The Knights U16 team, managed by Ian Irving, Conrad Carrolan & James Summers, played in the First Division of the Derby City Saturday morning league this season. With a total of 7 teams in the league, each team played each other three times. In the main, it has been a very competitive season with a lot of closely contested games. Knights achieved third place in the league, winning or drawing against all the teams below them but not quite managing to take any points from the six games against the two teams above them – Eastwood Community & Barton Rovers. The squad of 17 players made steady progress over the season helped by excellent attendance at weekly training sessions. THE OPPOSITION STAPENHILL They were formed in 1947 and ten years after formation they joined the Leicestershire Senior League Division Two and found immediate success, gaining promotion in their debut season and winning the Division One championship in the following two seasons. They remained in that division, apart from a single season (1971/1972) in Division Two, winning the top flight, now renamed the Premier Division, twice more – 1986/1987 and 1988/1989. They then joined the Midland Combination Premier Division, staying there for five seasons until they became a founding member of the Midland Alliance where they remained until resigning from the league in January 2002. Later that year they joined the Leicestershire Senior League and were promoted as runners-up into the Premier Division. In the 2007/2008 season, they were members of the Midland Football Alliance, but after a fire ravaged their home stadium the club was forced to close down. The club reformed in 2009 and rejoined the Leicestershire Senior League and gained promotion to the EMCL in the 2012/2013 season. ASHBY KNIGHTS UPDATE Once again I would like to wish Andy and the lads all the best in this afternoons game.
The knights have had a mixed three weeks or so. Firstly drawing 0-0 with highfield Rangers which was a very disappointing result. Then we had another rest week which was frustrating for myself and the lads but then pleasingly we bounced back last Saturday with a very good 4-1 victory over Earl Shilton.
This weekend sees us up against Holwell Sports which won’t be an easy game for the lads even with them sitting bottom of the league. However me and Paz will make sure that they are up for the task and if we can secure the three points then that will guarantee that we finish at least second which will be a fantastic achievement in our first season together.
We have two final home games after Saturday and still in with a chance of winning the league so it would be brilliant to get as much support for the lads as possible.
Thanks

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY
19 4 8 - 2 01 8
70 YE AR S
The club currently consists of three adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the East Midlands Counties League, with the Reserves in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. In the 2008/2009 season the club formed a Youth Team (Under 18’s) side who play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League on Wednesday nights. A Sunday team was re-introduced for this season and they play in the Burton Sunday League Division Four. The club also has a large number of junior sides ranging from Under 7’s through to Under 18’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/2011 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runners-up on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and would play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016.

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY 2015/2016 saw Ashby have another fine season and they mounted a strong title challenge and they led the East Midlands Counties League for the majority of the season before finally finishing in third place. That saw them assured of a first ever appearance in the FA Cup for the 2016/2017 season. Last season was the most memorable in the history of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club. For the very first time in the clubs history they were accepted to play in the most famous club competition in the world, The FA Cup. It turned into a thrilling journey with higher ranked opponents of Quorn and Loughborough Dynamo knocked out before Ashby fell to Ilkeston in the 1st Qualifying Round. Prior to the Ilkeston defeat Ashby received a visit from the FA Cup which was paraded through the town centre visiting local sponsors before players and spectators had the opportunity to view the cup at the NFU Sports Ground. The league season was inconsistent with a strong finish to the season seeing the team finish in tenth place. The season did end with a first appearance in the final of the Jenkins & Jenkins League Cup but Dunkirk overturned a one goal deficit late on to see Ashby end as runners-up.
