CHAIRMAN'S WELCOME Good afternoon & welcome to The NFU for today’s game against AFC Bridgnorth, it’s a long journey for them & we welcome their players & officials & hope they enjoy their visit to Ashby de la Zouch. After the recent storms we have suffered a bit of damage around the ground & it’s a little scruffy around the edges as a result, we’ll have a few working parties in the next few weeks and if anyone would like to lend a hand as always we’d be delighted to hear from them. Off the field it’s been a busy time, The Directors have asked me to fulfil the role of Chairman, of course I was honoured to accept and will work with them and club officials to progress the club in a positive and sustainable manner. In that regard there have been some exciting appointments in key positions at the club. Mark Scrivener, joins us as Head of Junior Football, Mark brings with him a wealth of knowledge at junior level and his boundless enthusiasm will I’m sure be infectious in growing our junior teams for next season. Robbie Avins joins us to run the Soccer School on Saturday mornings, Rob works in school football for a living so is ideal in the role, he has taken a couple of sessions so far and the feedback has been terrific, great to see you back Rob. Finally Dean O’Shea joins us as Head of Community Liaison, Dean will work with the local business community to forge stronger links and hopefully build our support from the business sector within the town.
Last time out we had an impressive 3-0 win over Wednesfield and as we approach the business end of the season we wish Andy and the lads all the best for another victory today. Thank you for your support, as always it’s much appreciated. Enjoy the game. Dave Chairman Ps – if you are visiting the ground by car please DO NOT OBSTRUCT the junction to Cambrian Way by parking on the grass/ path verge as this is both dangerous and you could get a fixed penalty notice from the Council and or Police.
