CHAIRMAN WELCOME Firstly may we welcome you you all to the NFU Sports Ground for todays game against Teversal FC and may we extend a warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Teversal FC and hope we all enjoy a good afternoon of football. CLUB STATEMENT: It has been brought to the attention of the Management Team of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club that there has been an external group established calling themselves - ASHBY IVANHOE COMMUNITY - Friends Of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club. The Management Team of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club would like to make it clear that this organisation is not associated with the club in any capacity and as such has no authority to represent the club or act on its behalf and we are, at this time, unclear as to this organisations intentions. We know the individual(s) that are involved in driving this organisation, who only last week, claimed that have purchased the club crest but have kindly granted us permission to carry on using it as bizarre and outrageous that sounds! We have also been informed by a few of you that you have received communication inviting you to be part of a "Big Conversation" and that as far as you were aware, this was sent by the club itself. To clarify, this communication was not sent by the club but by the organisation calling themselves "Friends of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club". The Club would like to state that there is no meeting being held by the Club. and that anyone outside of the Club has NO AUTHORITY from the club to hold such a meeting. Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club has an Official Supporters Club which supporters can share their views, ideas, suggestions with or alternatively the Club has clear guidelines of communication for individuals, groups and organisations who wish to communicate with the Club and we encourage that these be used. If you have any questions, concerns, suggestions then please forward these in the first instance to: info@ashbyivanhoefc.com and we will ensure you get directed to the right person who can assist you. Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club has grown significantly since our move to Lower Packington Road, 8 years ago and we will always strive to improve the experience and facilities for everyone that visits the ground and this has been achieved so far by a combined effort of committed Volunteers, Parents, Supporters and Sponsors and this has allowed the club to provide football for in the town for over 300 players at the various venues we play at. However, we acknowledge that there are areas that we could improve on and would love to hear your thoughts via the correct channels - email us info@ashbyivanhoefc.com or speak to one of the management team on matchdays. Additionally we would love to hear how you feel about the club on our social media sites, Facebook and Twitter so please share. We look forward to receiving your feedback on how you feel we could improve and hope you enjoy the game. THE MANAGEMENT TEAM - ASHBY IVANHOE FOOTBALL CLUB Stuart Bonser Club Chairman

FIRST TEAM UPDATE Hello and welcome to the NFU, home of Ashby Ivanhoe FC. I welcome the players, supporters and officials of Teversel today to what will be an important game for us today. 10 days ago we played Ingles in the Quarter Final of the County Cup and a fantastic performance saw us end up comfortable winners. In this league you must win every single battle on the pitch and you can’t afford to carry a single player in a game. Against Ingles, we won every single battle and every player played their part. This is the type of commitment and performance I want from an Ashby side. On Saturday we went to Radford in the league. A narrow 2-1 defeat saw us leave empty handed. What was upsetting is that we simply didn’t turn up in the same way we did against Ingles. We set a level in the previous game and we didn’t live up to that level. We need to bring the mentality from the Ingles performance into every game from now on. If we do that then we have a real chance of achieving our targets this year. As with all our games, it is our intention to go out with attacking intent. Enjoy the game, keep the faith and please be vocal in your support. Craig Picknell 1st Team Manager

IN OPPOSITION TODAY Teversal After a long history of football at Carnarvon Street supporting the local mining community dating back to 1918, under various names including Teversal Miners Welfare or Teversal & Silverhill a long playing history of football to a high level included playing in the FA Cup. The football side of the complex became run down and it was only down to the hard work of Sam Slack in the 1970’s and early 1980’s that football continued, under the banner of youth football. Senior football returned again in 1986 under the name of M.W. Teversal. The closure of Teversal Colliery followed by the Miners Welfare in 1989 saw what some claimed was the final nail in the coffin by the closure of Silverhill Colliery that lead to a steady decline of the site. The period of uncertainty saw action taken with Ashfield District Council taking over the Trusteeship of the complex in 1989, with the name changing to the Teversal Grange Sports and Social Centre, hence the name change to Teversal Grange F.C. The name was changed again at the start of the 2000-2001 season to the current name. There is currently uncertain times as the Trustees look to finding a working situation as they have allowed the sites income stream to diminish. But we continue to develop and look to leave a legacy not another derelict site. From the uncertain times, which saw the club running just one Senior team, the club's strength has grown to have two Senior teams, Youth teams right through the ranges from Under 7’s to 16’s, along with training sessions for 5 year olds. A return to national competitions is a mark of how the club as developed, F.A. Vase 2003-04 season, F.A. Youth Cup 2004-05 season and the big one the F.A. Cup 2005-06 which was gained after winning promotion to the Northern Counties East League from the Central Midlands League. However the Football Association changed the entry criteria for the 2009-10 season for the FA Cup and unfortunately this meant exclusion from the competition for a number of step 6 clubs including ourselves since the 2011-12, with the exception of the 2012-13. Our first season in the East Midlands Counties League in 2017/18 saw a third place finish and missing out on winning it by only two points. That was an achievement that reached the standard that allows them to return in the World Famous FA Cup competition for this season. 2012-13 season saw the club make history again when the introduction of our first ever Ladies side, which bettered all expectations, runners in the Nottinghamshire Girls & Ladies League, League Cup Final runners and County Cup Semifinalist, saw promotion to the East Midlands Ladies League. After a couple of difficult seasons, the Ladies have now returned to the Nottinghamshire Girls & Ladies League for the 2018/19 campaign. Honours wise in the short term history, the club has gained promotion through the National System without winning a league, and the most recent success was a being finalist in the 2007-2008 Northern Counties East League Wilkinson Sword Trophy, which goes with our runners up berth to Hucknall Town of the Unibond Premier League in the Notts Senior Cup Final at Meadow Lane, losing 2-0 in April 2003, marking the 2002-03 season as one of the best seasons in the clubs history. But the story continues and the aims of the club remain the same, and it’s hoped to reward these efforts with some senior silverware for both the men and ladies, along with the continued success within the club’s Youth Section. Recent successes of the progress of players into the professional game are Ryan Williams (Mansfield Town, Tranmere Rovers Chesterfield, Hull City, Bristol Rovers, and Aldershot Town), Jake Buxton (Mansfield Town, Burton Albion, and Derby County), Dave Kettle (Notts County) and the most recent being Danny Fletcher (Mansfield Town) and Jason Law (Mansfield Town). With numerous players that have progressed to Academies but unfortunately not made the grade.

ASHBY KNIGHTS UPDATE Firstly I would like to wish Craig and the lads all the best in today’s game.
Last weekend was a disappointing result for the Knights after losing to a very good and well drilled Wymeswold side. However we are still sat in second place with a game in hand.
This weekend we are away to Anstey Nomads which we know will not be an easy game as they have also started the season well but me and Paz will be looking for a reaction from the lads and hopefully 3 points!
Our next home again is on the 15th of December so it would be nice to see some faces down and support the lads!
Many thanks

THE OPPOSITION STAPENHILL They were formed in 1947 and ten years after formation they joined the Leicestershire Senior League Division Two and found immediate success, gaining promotion in their debut season and winning the Division One championship in the following two seasons. They remained in that division, apart from a single season (1971/1972) in Division Two, winning the top flight, now renamed the Premier Division, twice more – 1986/1987 and 1988/1989. They then joined the Midland Combination Premier Division, staying there for five seasons until they became a founding member of the Midland Alliance where they remained until resigning from the league in January 2002. Later that year they joined the Leicestershire Senior League and were promoted as runners-up into the Premier Division. In the 2007/2008 season, they were members of the Midland Football Alliance, but after a fire ravaged their home stadium the club was forced to close down. The club reformed in 2009 and rejoined the Leicestershire Senior League and gained promotion to the EMCL in the 2012/2013 season. ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY
19 4 8 - 2 01 8
70 YE AR S
The club currently consists of three adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the East Midlands Counties League, with the Reserves in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. In the 2008/2009 season the club formed a Youth Team (Under 18’s) side who play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League on Wednesday nights. A Sunday team was re-introduced for this season and they play in the Burton Sunday League Division Four. The club also has a large number of junior sides ranging from Under 7’s through to Under 18’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/2011 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runners-up on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and would play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016.

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY 2015/2016 saw Ashby have another fine season and they mounted a strong title challenge and they led the East Midlands Counties League for the majority of the season before finally finishing in third place. That saw them assured of a first ever appearance in the FA Cup for the 2016/2017 season. Last season was the most memorable in the history of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club. For the very first time in the clubs history they were accepted to play in the most famous club competition in the world, The FA Cup. It turned into a thrilling journey with higher ranked opponents of Quorn and Loughborough Dynamo knocked out before Ashby fell to Ilkeston in the 1st Qualifying Round. Prior to the Ilkeston defeat Ashby received a visit from the FA Cup which was paraded through the town centre visiting local sponsors before players and spectators had the opportunity to view the cup at the NFU Sports Ground. The league season was inconsistent with a strong finish to the season seeing the team finish in tenth place. The season did end with a first appearance in the final of the Jenkins & Jenkins League Cup but Dunkirk overturned a one goal deficit late on to see Ashby end as runners-up.
