CHAIRMANS WELCOME Good evening and welcome to the NFU Sports Ground for the final first team home game and may we extend a warm welcome to the players, officials and supporters of Clifton All Whites FC who visit us for the first time. I am sure you will all agree that the season has been a long and challenging one for us all both on and off the field but as we enter the final games we can look forward to a rest and re-enthuse people for the next season. I must pay recognition to the commitment of all of the players and managers and volunteers over the last few weeks as they have made themselves available for most of the games that have come our way and I know it has been tough, but I thank you. Additionally, I must thank all our spectators who have supported the respective teams this season and especially over the latter part of the season. We have learnt a lot of valuable lessons this year as a club but remain focussed on ensuring we continue to develop and introduce home grown young talent into the first team squad and support them with more experienced players to push us forward. This is the plan for next season and we believe it remains the right thing to do to be a sustainable football club going forward. Of course, winning games is what its all about and with a season under our belt with a young squad I am optimistic that we will be better for this season just gone despite the league position at the end. Following a Senior Management meeting with Craig, we are delighted to announce that both Craig and Marc will be continuing in their roles with the first team next season. They have set out their plans for next season in accordance with our club philosophy and have their eyes on fresh players and new backroom staff to help them deliver the plan and push the performances, development and results forward next season. We believe this is the right thing to do and not knee jerk with a fresh appointment that brings in a wholesale of players and probably undoes the work and effort that has been happening this season and one which has laid foundations for the future. This Friday sees the Senior Presentation evening and you are welcome to pop along if you wish with the event starting from 7pm. The following Saturday sees the junior presentations and again feel free to pop along with the events starting at 2pm. May I extend in my final notes of the season, a huge thank you to all our Sponsors this season who have supported the club and your contribution to the financial running of the club is much valued and I hope we continue with your involvement next season. Additionally, I would like to personally thank all the loyal volunteers and the Senior Management Team for their hard and relentless efforts this season and until you become one these volunteers it often goes un-noticed as to the time and commitment required to be involved, so I thank you all. It comes with sadness that I announce that Matthew Lester will be stepping aside from producing the matchday programme next season and I appreciate and respect Matthews decision, albeit I will still try and keep his involvement going forward as he, without question, produces the best matchday magazine in the league and further afield too and has won the programme of the year 2 out of the 4 seasons we have been in the EMCFL. There is no one who can compete with his level of work in producing the programme and it will be a tough act to follow if he steps aside so please either pass on your thanks to Matthew tonight or urge him to carry on next year. The club will be holding their AGM on Sunday 24th June and if you know anyone that would like to join as a member or indeed be put forward for any of the vacant positions then please see the website for further details ahead of the AGM. All that remains is to thank you all again for the support you have extended over a very hard season and hope, wherever we are playing next year that you continue to follow us and help us get back to winning ways. Stuart Bonser Club Chairman

IN OPPOSITION TODAY CLIFTON ALL WHITES Clifton All Whites FC is probably amongst the most recognisable Amateur football clubs in the County due to some of it’s more famous past youth team players going on to play at the higher levels of football in this country, and for the infamous ‘All White’ nickname which caused controversy amongst some quarters in the mid-nineties leading to the ‘official’ scrapping of that tag. Players such as Gary Birtles, Jermaine Pennent, Darren Huckerby, Jermaine Jenas, Michael Johnson to name a few have all come through the clubs youth structure over the past years. Clifton FC have also been successful on the pitch, formerly playing in the Midland’s League and Notts Alliance the club also reached the Third Round of the FA Vase in 1975/76. Winning the Senior League Cup in 2006, a year later the Reserves won their first NSL honour gaining the First Division Championship under the guidance of James Turner & Chris Driffill and in 2010 the same management team took the clubs first team to deliver the Senior Division title for the first time in the clubs history. On the back of this success and the development of the Green Lane facility the club decided to make the step up to the CML and hopes the recent progression continues. ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY

70 YE AR S
The club currently consists of three adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the East Midlands Counties League, with the Reserves in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. In the 2008/2009 season the club formed a Youth Team (Under 18’s) side who play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League on Wednesday nights. A Sunday team was re-introduced for this season and they play in the Burton Sunday League Division Four. The club also has a large number of junior sides ranging from Under 7’s through to Under 18’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009/2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/2011 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runners-up on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and would play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016.

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY 2015/2016 saw Ashby have another fine season and they mounted a strong title challenge and they led the East Midlands Counties League for the majority of the season before finally finishing in third place. That saw them assured of a first ever appearance in the FA Cup for the 2016/2017 season. Last season was the most memorable in the history of Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club. For the very first time in the clubs history they were accepted to play in the most famous club competition in the world, The FA Cup. It turned into a thrilling journey with higher ranked opponents of Quorn and Loughborough Dynamo knocked out before Ashby fell to Ilkeston in the 1st Qualifying Round. Prior to the Ilkeston defeat Ashby received a visit from the FA Cup which was paraded through the town centre visiting local sponsors before players and spectators had the opportunity to view the cup at the NFU Sports Ground. The league season was inconsistent with a strong finish to the season seeing the team finish in tenth place. The season did end with a first appearance in the final of the Jenkins & Jenkins League Cup but Dunkirk overturned a one goal deficit late on to see Ashby end as runners-up. The new season sees a new management team at the helm of the club with Glyn Andrews and Craig Picknell joining the club from Friar Lane & Epworth with the aim of achieving promotion to Step 5.
