CHAIRMANS WELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to today’s match against our visitors Ellistown and Ibstock United FC and may I extend a warm welcome to the players, officials and spectators of Ellistown and Ibstock United FC and hope that we all enjoy a good match. May I welcome today’s Match ball Sponsor, Tim Broster and his Girlfriend who will be presenting the referee with the ball as the players walk out onto the pitch. Thank you Tim for your support and be sure to view Tim’s advert in this programme and if you are need of his services please use him as one of our sponsors and mention Ashby Ivanhoe FC when you do. I write these notes ahead of the away game against Dunkirk and on the backend of a win against Graham Street Prims and as such have I have no upto date information to give you on our FA CUP game due to be played here this Saturday against Ilkeston FC. However, the League has issued the following statement: League statement: Ilkeston FC 22.08.16 Further to previous statements issued by the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League, the competition is yet to receive evidence of payment to creditors by Ilkeston FC. The club’s licence was suspended following charges brought as a result of breaches of league Rule 40/Appendix F, a breach of rule 11 in relation to Football Creditors and a breach of licensing regulation 1.4. The club pleaded guilty to all charges. The licensing scheme has been introduced by the Football Association for season 2016-17, under which every club operating at Steps 1 - 4 of the National League System must have a valid licence. Ilkeston FC were advised that continued failure to supply evidence of payments being made to football and other creditors including the league would result in the suspension of the licence. The decision to suspend Ilkeston FC’s licence was subsequently taken by the board of the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League. As a result of this suspension, in accordance with licensing regulation 1.6, “… the Club cannot participate in the Competition … until the expiry of seven days from the day of the default is remedied, unless otherwise agreed by the Competition. If the Competition refuse or withdraw a Licence then that club cannot participate in the Competition”. In order for the league’s board to review this decision, supporting evidence relating to payments made are required from the club. To date, none has been received despite several requests. Consequently, the club’s licence remains suspended and, in accordance with FA rules, Ilkeston FC, has therefore been charged under league rule 8.6 with three counts of failing to fulfill a fixture. Rule 8.6 states that “… any Club … failing to fulfill an engagement to play a Competition match on the appointed date shall for each offence be liable to expulsion from the Competition and/or such other disciplinary action the Board may determine.” The charges will be heard by a League Panel on Wednesday 31st August 2016. The EVO-STIK Northern Premier League will not be making any further statement until after this date. Please keep yourselves upto date by visiting our website or social media pages and as soon as we have news on whether the game will be going ahead or not we will post information on the various platforms available to you I would like to thank all of our supporters for your continued support of the team both home and away. It gives me great pleasure to see so many of you watching the team and I know that the players are very appreciative too as there’s nothing better than having great support encouraging you from the sidelines. All that remains is to wish our players well today and hope we all are in for a good game. Stuart Bonser Club Chairman

FIRST TEAM UPDATE Good afternoon and welcome to the home of Ashby Ivanhoe FC. May I extend a very warm welcome on behalf of the Club to everyone attending today’s match and in particular the players, officials and supporters of our opponents Ellistown & Ibstock United. Last Saturday’s FA Cup clash with Loughborough Dynamo could not have gone smoother in terms of the players applying themselves with a purpose and intensity that made a mockery of the gulf in respective League status of both clubs. Apart from a lapse in concentration in the 92nd minute they executed the game plan to the letter which was a true credit to everyone connected to the Club. Evidently since our Westerby Cup victory last season the match day compere now knows who we are, Ashby Ivanhoe not Barrow Town, but it would now appear that handing out brown envelopes in front of all and sundry in the bar after the game is an acceptable practice. Onto the next round, at the time of writing theses notes a decision whether Ilkeston can fulfil the tie is still pending but if the game does go ahead we will need to up our performance to another level from the Loughborough game to progress further. After the high of the Loughborough performance our midweek League clash with Graham Street Prims could have become an anti-climax but the players picked up from where we had left off the previous Saturday and ran out comfortable six nil winners with a solid attacking performance. Our combination play centrally was excellent at Loughborough but what was pleasing on Tuesday night was how we used the full backs to great effect to provide an added attacking dimension to our play. We will be looking to expand on this outlet further in our game against Dunkirk on Saturday and again today. With respect to today’s fixture local derbies are usually tight affairs. As we impress on the players every week the performance and result of the game lies within our changing room, in football to be challenged is inevitable but to be defeated is optional. Let’s “hope” we can build on the positive aspects of the last two games (and hopefully a good performance at Dunkirk!) and produce an entertaining performance with the desired outcome. Thank you for your support and enjoy the game. Miles Warriner First Team Management Team

EAST MIDLANDS COUNTIES FOOTBALL LEAGUE TUESDAY 23RD AUGUST 2016 ASHBY IVANHOE LINE-UP: Luke Hemingway, Jack Ryder, Evan Cawley, Chris Nettel, Tom Rowell, Sam Johnson, Patrick Rowell, Luke Thorogood, Danny Quinn, Royce Turville, Josh Riley GOALS: Danny Quinn (6, 51, 75), Jack Ryder (39), Royce Turville (48), Luke Thorogood (65) SUBSTITUTES USED: James Fisher, Jack Robinson, Luke Tozer ATTENDANCE: 83 Ashby Ivanhoe followed up their impressive FA Cup victory with another fine performance as they recorded their first league victory of the season at the third attempt by defeating Graham Street Prims 6-0 with Danny Quinn leading the way with a hat-trick with further strikes from Jack Ryder, Royce Turville and Luke Thorogood. The first goal of the match came with the first chance with just six minutes on the clock when a ball into the area was headed goalwards by Quinn and after the ball had struck the post it came straight back towards Quinn and he was quickest to react and jumped above the defender to head home. The next two chances also fell the way of Quinn as Ashby made a good start to the match when firstly a defensive mix-up resulted in a shot on the turn which was deflected wide and the second effort saw a ball over the top of the defence chased down but after advancing into the area the shot was wide of the far post. Ashby continued to create the chances and on the half hour mark they were within the width of the crossbar to doubling their advantage when a dangerous free kick from Thorogood into the visitors area was flicked goalwards by Quinn who saw the keeper make the save but fail to hold onto the ball and the followup from Turville struck the bar. Two more chances at goal quickly came Ashby’s way when another great delivery into the area from Thorogood saw Turville get onto the end of it only to see his header clear the bar and then Thorogood was the provider again when his pass to Quinn inside the area resulted in a shot towards the far corner only for a defender to head behind. Ashby did deservedly double their lead six minutes before half time with a fine goal from right-back Jack Ryder who from inside the area to the right of goal skipped past a defender before firing a low shot across the face of goal with the ball finding the net just inside the far post and give Ashby a 2-0 half time advantage. Ashby made a lightening start to the second half and within three minutes of the restart they increased their lead to 3-0 when Ryder turned provider by delivering a deep cross into the area and at the back post was Turville and he headed home. A couple of minutes later and Prims had their first chance of a goal when they were awarded a free kick about 25 yards from goal and with Luke Hemingway in the Ashby goal choosing to leave the ball he was relieved to see it bounce clear after striking the foot of the post. 12

PREVIOUS MEETING ASHBY IVANHOE 5-0 ELLISTOWN & IBSTOCK UNITED EAST MIDLANDS COUNTIES FOOTBALL LEAGUE MONDAY 28TH MARCH 2016 Ashby Ivanhoe completed an Easter weekend double to maintain their challenge at the top end of the table. After defeating Borrowash Victoria 2-0 on Saturday, Bank Holiday saw a local derby against Ellistown & Ibstock United and they were easily brushed aside 5-0 with Luke Thorogood and substitute Royce Turville scoring two apiece with Chris Waldrum adding the other. Ashby were on the front foot for the majority of the match and they opened the scoring on 17 minutes when from a corner taken by Waldrum the ball was headed home by the unmarked Thorogood at the near post. Ashby started the second half really well and within 15 minutes they had taken the game away from the visitors with three quick goals. The first came on 48 minutes when Waldrum found the net with a long range effort before the lead was increased to 3-0 on 55 minutes when the ball was passed to Thorogood and he turned inside the area before firing a powerful shot high into the net. The quick scoring run continued in the 58th minute when Antonio Williams played a pass across the area and at the back post substitute Turville was there to apply the finish and make it 4-0. Midway through the second half and the fifth and final goal of the game was scored and it was Turville who added his second when another low ball into the area from Jack Ryder was finished off at the back post.

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club was founded in 1948 and play their home matches at the NFU Sports Ground, Lower Packington Road, Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire. This is the clubs new home from the beginning of the 2012/2013 season. Since being founded in 1948 up until the end of the 2011/2012 season the clubs previous home was at Hood Park also in Ashby de la Zouch. The club currently consists of four adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the East Midlands Counties League, with the Reserves in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. In the 2008/2009 season the club formed a Youth Team (Under 18’s) side who play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League on Wednesday nights. A Sunday team was re-introduced for the 2012/2013 season and they play in the Burton Sunday League Division Three. For 2015/2016 a third Saturday side has been formed who will play in the North Leicestershire Football League Division One. The club also has 11 junior sides ranging from Under 9’s through to Under 17’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009-2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/11 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runners-up on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and will play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016.
