CHAIRMANS WELCOME Good afternoon and welcome to today’s match against our visitors South Normanton FC and may I extend a warm welcome to the players, officials and spectators of South Normanton FC and hope that we all enjoy a good match. Without focussing too much on today’s opposition, I am sure that today’s game will be one of our toughest tests so far this season as South Normanton were, in my opinion, one of the tougher sides we played last season and have the same desire as us to move forward as a club. Tuesday nights win over Borrowash Victoria saw another great performance on a very difficult pitch but all credit to the lads the truly deserved the win and the reward of a League Cup Semi Final. The Senior section has now re-established itself under the mandate given and I am pleased with the progress that the 1st Team are making and also the structure that is now in place with the reserves which is great to see and thanks to Russ, Marc and Mick for their hard work in building and attracting players that want to play for the club (mind you I must mention Charlie as he steadied the ship before Christmas and gave the guys a strong foundation to build on) The Junior section continues to develop also and I will be sharing more exciting plans about the way we are establishing junior and youth football at the club in the coming weeks. The pitches are now showing the test of the time of Season and I hope that we can enjoy a good game of football this afternoon and not many more weeks before we start to see the grass start to recover and return, always my favourite time of the year. I write these notes ahead of our Management Meeting and will share more plans for the club with you over the coming weeks. I would like to thank all of our supporters for your continued support of the team both home and away. It gives me great pleasure to see so many of you watching the team and I know that the players are very appreciative too as there’s nothing better than having great support encouraging you from the sidelines. All that remains is to wish our players well today and hope we all are in for a good game. Stuart Bonser Club Chairman Ps – if you are visiting the ground by car please DO NOT OBSTRUCT the junction to Cambrian Way by parking on the grass/path verge as this is both dangerous and you could get a fixed penalty notice from the Council and or Police. vs South Normanton Athletic| Saturday 11th February 2017 | www.ashbyivanhoefc.com

FIRST TEAM UPDATE Managers Talk Good afternoon and welcome to NFU sports ground for this afternoon’s league game against South Normanton FC. We would like to welcome all those connected with South Normanton and hope you have a safe journey home. The last two league games have been encouraging, winning both of them, we need to keep focussed and aim to continue our good work and try to string another good unbeaten run going again. This afternoon’s game is going to be a tough one, South Normanton are right up there challenging for the league and are a very good side. I know Tommy (their Manager) he has assembled a decent squad of players, and I am sure they will be there or there about’ s in the top two come the end of the season, I personally think they will go on a win the league this season! We are obviously underdogs, but as I know from experience with my time at Bardon Hill when we won this league a couple of seasons ago, all the pressure is on South Normanton. We have now started to creep up the league and our aim is still a top 6 position come the end of March/early April, and then let’s see what happens in the last 3 to 4 weeks of the season as I do believe it is going to one interesting Month in April!!! We are now regarded as very hard to beat and breakdown by the top teams in this division, I know from talking to other managers of the top sides they don’t fancy playing us! It’s very important for us to continue picking up points and as I said earlier let’s see where we are in the table after the next run of 10 games to then push on further. This game will be another good test as to how we are doing and one we can really measure ourselves against in terms of where we are as a group. For those who weren’t at Tuesday night’s game and didn’t see the programme notes: Reference player movements I am delighted to welcome back Sam Johnston back to the club after a short spell away “Welcome back Jonno” On other club announcements I would like to also congratulate my mate and partner in crime (Joint Manager Lee Attenborough) on the arrival of his new born baby girl last Saturday. To our supporters, your support has been great and we would like to say thank you- this really helps the lads. Enjoy the game Steve Titterton & Lee Attenborough First Team Management FIRST TEAM UPDATE SPONSORED BY

ASHBY IVANHOE FC SUPPORTERS CLUB THE OPPOSITION A very warm welcome and to everyone here at the NFU Sports Ground for this afternoons East Midlands STAPENHILL Counties League match against South Normanton Athletic.
They were formed in 1947 and ten years after formation they joined the Leicestershire Senior League Division Two and found immediate success, gaining promotion in their debut season and winning the Division One championship in the following two seasons. that so New management team Lee Attenborough and Steve Titterton are shaping up wellThey withremained just oneindefeat division, apart from a single season (1971/1972) in Division Two, winning the top flight, now far against league leaders West Bridgford, where I thought the 4-2 score line flattered the home team. IN OPPOSITION TODAY SOUTH NORMANTON ATHLETIC We now enter the seventh season under the name of the newly formed SNAFC and progress over these years has been steady. Under the chairmanship of Phil Bailey who has completely single handed at times, transformed the stadium into what we see today. Entry back into the pyramid system with the Central Midlands League saw the club finish 11th / 3rd / 3rd and 9th and then runners up in the Southern division. Due to Clifton failing FA ground grading regulations, we were promoted to the East Midlands Counties league under the management of Mark Wilson. Mark left early in the first season for a position with Rocester but Tom Leighton took over as player manager and guided the club to a 7th position and the club won the Jenkins and Jenkins League Cup. This position brought us re-entry back into the FA Cup and we were not disgraced to go out in the second preliminary round replay to EVO-STIK Lincoln United. This year we hope to go further. Tom’s first full season in charge saw the club finish 4th after for much of the season looking favourites to win the title. A second league cup final was achieved but we lost our unbeaten record in this competition to Aylestone Park 2-1. The club first competed in the Vase in 1994 when in an extra preliminary round game at Home to Long Eaton United saw them win 3-0 to set up a game at Bradford Park Avenue (Where are they now?) eventually losing 6-4. The best season in the competition saw them reach round 2 Proper in 2006-07 against one of the local clubs as these early rounds are regionalised. With the club getting the infrastructure in place we hope to make the next step to level 5 and with the help of our enthusiastic president Mike Robinson with whom we named the stadium after (M J Robinson Structures Arena)

ASHBY IVANHOE FC CLUB HISTORY Ashby Ivanhoe Football Club was founded in 1948 and play their home matches at the NFU Sports Ground, Lower Packington Road, Ashby de la Zouch in Leicestershire. This is the clubs new home from the beginning of the 2012/2013 season. Since being founded in 1948 up until the end of the 2011/2012 season the clubs previous home was at Hood Park also in Ashby de la Zouch. The club currently consists of four adult teams and a youth team. The first team play in the East Midlands Counties League, with the Reserves in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division. In the 2008/2009 season the club formed a Youth Team (Under 18’s) side who play in the Leicestershire Midweek Floodlit Youth League on Wednesday nights. A Sunday team was re-introduced for the 2012/2013 season and they play in the Burton Sunday League Division Three. For 2015/2016 a third Saturday side has been formed who will play in the North Leicestershire Football League Division One. The club also has 11 junior sides ranging from Under 9’s through to Under 17’s who play in the Burton Junior Football League, Tamworth Junior Football League and the Derby City League. The junior section came after the club merged with the David Hunt Soccer School at the beginning of the 2009-2010 season. In February 2004, Ashby Ivanhoe became an FA Charter Standard football club. The club is very ambitious and has plans to progress further up the league pyramid system. The club is run by an experienced management team and enjoys the support of some very prestigious commercial partners. Ashby Ivanhoe had one of their most successful seasons in 2010/11 as they completed a league and cup double by winning the Leicestershire Senior League by nine points and also lifted the Coalville Charity Cup for the very first time after producing a superb second half comeback to beat Bardon Hill 3-2 in the final. They have also reached successive Leicestershire Senior Cup finals in 2011/2012 and 2012/2013 but had to settle for runners-up on both occasions losing 3-1, firstly to Ibstock United and then Aylestone Park. The 2013/2014 season saw the first team achieve a long-term ambition as they won promotion into the Step 6 East Midlands Counties League for the 2014/2015 season after finishing third place in the Leicestershire Senior League. It was a close title race with the top three all finishing level on points with Ashby third on goal difference. The Reserves were also promoted to the Leicestershire Senior League Division One. 2014/2015 saw Ashby compete at Step 6 of the non-league pyramid for the first time and they had a very good season and secured a top six finish in the East Midlands Counties League which featured victories against all of the sides above them. The Reserve side were involved in a tight title race and it went down to a last day decider against Lutterworth Athletic Reserves but despite the result going against them on the day they were still promoted for the second season in succession and will play at Step 7 in the Leicestershire Senior League Premier Division for 2015/2016.
