We truly appreciate this opportunity to provide the Ak-Chin Indian Community this proposal. As a very established Native-Owned company, we take a great amount of pride in providing quality projects and professional services throughout Indian Country. Arrowhead Builders has assembled a quality team that shares the same passion for helping Tribal communities construct facilities that bring purpose and meaning to each unique Community. Our proposed Team, with Arrowhead Builders as the prime contractor and SPS+ Architects as our dedicated design Team Member, will provide a powerful combination of strategically located management, administrative, design, and construction resources to successfully meet the requirements of this contract. Ultimately, our Team’s commitment and goal is to work alongside the Community, Community Leaders, Tribal Departments/ Enterprises, and other stakeholders through the design build process to effectively provide Ak-Chin Indian Community with a high quality and culturally significant Fairground and Arena that will benefit the Community for many years to come. Our experience includes an extensive resume working with Native American tribes successfully building in the gaming, hospitality, healthcare, education, office, cultural, site infrastructure and many other market sectors. ABOUT SPS+ ARCHITECTS SPS+ Architects has worked with Ak-Chin Indian Community for over 10 years providing architectural and engineering services on several community projects such as the Archive Building, Him-Dak Eco-Museum Remodel – including feasibility studies for the Cultural Resource and Language Facility and recently the Community Operations project. During this time, we have succeeded in working with many tribal programs as well as understanding local and Planning and Zoning requirements – a terrific value we bring. Brock oversees project supervision efforts to ensure excellence in staffing and budget control while meeting committed scheduling goals with a firm adherence to safety and quality control. Brock has a deep understanding and appreciation of doing Tribal work throughout Indian Country and has developed trusting and lasting relationships throughout his career. KARI MCCORMICK I Vice President, Client Relations Kari McCormick, Vice President of Client Relations for Arrowhead Builders, is responsible for client development, maintaining client satisfaction throughout the life of a project, while assuring Cultural competencies and compliance with our Native American clients. Ms. McCormick has been working in Indian Country for fifteen years in the A/E/C industry and is driven by her commitment to advancing the lives of Native peoples through economic and community development by facilitating connections of tribal practitioners to the best resources and practices in the industry. LAMONI YAZZIE I Western Regional Operations Manager Mr. Yazzie has over 15 years experience in the construction industry, working on federal contracting, private and commercial development including extensive work with Native American Communities throughout the US. His experience in construction management includes oversight of projects from concept to completion. Mr. Yazzie brings a unique experience having worked for several Tribal governments successfully providing oversite and leadership of various complex multi-million-dollar construction developments. SHANE EDMONDSON I Pre-Construction Manager As Pre-construction Manager, Shane is responsible for providing estimates, project schedules, constructability reviews, preparing bid packages and finalizing the GMP. Shane’s role will be assisting clients by providing cost evaluation throughout the entire design process and lead the pre-construction efforts for the Arrowhead project team ensuring that they are set up for success before the project breaks ground. PITTENGER I Principal in Charge Bill Pittenger’s technical expertise provides the ability to find design and construction solutions that maximize longevity and aesthetic appeal while minimizing long-term cost. Over the last 18 years, Bill has overseen the development of many Tribal housing communities, including Bluestone Community, San Carlos Townhomes and TeacherHousing and Piñon Teacher Housing. I Associate, Project Manager, Design Architect A cultural design specialist, Richard Begay has presented at national university-sponsored academic and professional conferences and published work on cultural design and aesthetics. Richard’s 15 years of architectural experience encompass government, education and hospitality projects.
