My first DCM of the Key Club year was held on Saturday, April 23 at Gene Coulon Park. Here, over 80 Key Clubbers gathered together to enjoy some fun icebreakers that required teamwork and endurance. Although we didn't get to know each other on a deep level, it was nice to see how comfortable and friendly everyone was with each other for the duration of the DCM. The respective presidents from each club shared their club updates to everyone and few goals they had for the year. We played games ranging from the Name Game, to Birdie on a Perch; and the Dragon Tail game to Red Rover. I sincerely thank everyone who came to my first DCM, I hope it was a memorable one for you all!

If you ever have the chance, visit your sponsoring Kiwanis Club meetings! It’s a wonderful way to connect with your Kiwanis advisers whether you’re an officer or a member. They truly do enjoy seeing Key Clubbers attend their meetings, and they can really benefit us as Key Clubbers if we learn more about what the Kiwanis branch of our family is up to. It’s the least we can do since they support us 100%. Many of the club meetings are during school, but summer is a fantastic opportunity to visit your Kiwanians! For more info on Division 32 Kiwanis clubs, visit this link  http://pnw32.org/

Here at the Renton Kiwanis meeting, it was amazing to see that there were more Key Clubbers than Kiwanians! A representative from the Renton Library came to talk about the new Renton Highlands library. Also, service opportunities for Kiwanis were talked about.

KIWANIS CLUB MEETIN 18

At the Kent Kiwanis meeting, Key Clubbers all the way from Renton came down to hear what was going on in the Kent area of Key Club! At this meeting, a rep from Downtown Kent talked about the restoration and renovation of the downtown Kent region because of the growing population in this area.

At the Meridian-Kent Kiwanis meeting, the CEO and founder of The Ladybug House came to speak about this nonprofit organization that provides care and support to children and young adults with illnesses that are life-limiting. This is one of three houses in the US that provides unlimited support to the families in this unfortunate situation.

Meet your 2016-2 Hey PNW District Key Clubbers, I’m Tiffany Wong and am thrilled to be serving you all as your District Secretary. Since stepping into Key Club, I’ve always strived to establish personal connections with each individual. My goals are to recognize secretaries on a monthly basis for their continuous efforts, to share advice and tips for officers, and to provide higher platforms of member input all over the district. Serving as a friend, not as a superior, has always been my focus, and I hope to continue that idea in what I do. I’m excited to work with you as friend who can assist you in any way possible, so please never hesitate to contact me!
