ear the seashore, there lived a flock of seagulls. The flock lived with the belief that the life is unknown and are born unknowable except that they are put into this world with a single mission to survive anyway they can, as long as possible. No one has ever disbelieved this. There was one seagull who thought differently, who never believed in this rule – who had a different perspective to his own life. He is Jonathan Livingston Seagull, who believed in the freedom of life, gladness of achievements. He had an urge to succeed in life through a different way and doing things no one have ever tried before. These made Jonathan unique. A new dawn aroused. Like all the other days, all seagulls were screeching and fighting around the piers and diving on scraps of fish and bread. They fought each other for survival. Jonathan was watching all these, trying to change himself for his parents and to live as one of them. But for Jonathan, flying was most important. He couldn’t change his mind. Finally, he went back to the sky to learn new flight lessons.

Everyday is the same for those who fail to find, The true meaning of their life...

The future you see Is the future you get... 3

Be different, Be unique...

Jonathan tried new styles of flight. He flew at a speed faster than any gull. From the height he did a vertical dive but he lost his control and crashed into the water. The failure hurt him a lot. He became desperate and made a promise to himself that he will live the rest of his life like the other gulls. And decided to go back home. He flew through the beautiful night sky cursing himself for being a seagull to live a limited life, who is unable to fly like a falcon. Suddenly he was struck with a thought. Seagulls never fly at night, only owls do that, which have keen eye sight. If he could do this, then why can’t he fly like a falcon? For that what he needed was only a falcon’s short wing. He decided to fly again, folding his wing to shorten it to that of falcons. All his pain vanished. He decided to break the promise he had made to himself. He climbed to a height and folded his wings and dived, without a moment of thought of failure or death. Approaching towards the sea surface at high speed many thoughts flashed through his mind. A small mistake could have even killed him. But he was confident enough to take over the thoughts. With the finest twist of his wing tips he eased out of the dive and shot above the waves. He was very happy that he succeeded in his trial. 5

Don’t lead your thoughts, Let your thoughts lead you...

Kill fear, Success awaits you...

Never get shattered by failures, It’s the stepping stone to success.

By sunup, Jonathan was practicing again. Accidently, he fired directly through the breakfast flock. But luckily no one was killed. The gulls flocked into the council gathering when he landed. The elder of the flock cast him out of the flock for disobeying their rules and living an entirely different life, ignoring the dignity and tradition of the seagull family. After he got became an outcast, he wandered alone for a long time, learning better and newer skills of flying. One day, two other gulls came to him and took him to their place. They called it heaven, the land of perfection. There he met many other gulls whose thinking were like him – who enjoy the freedom of flight and has found a different meaning for their life. They taught him new things, which would help him to attain perfection. Jonathan’s greatest wish was to fly beyond limits. He learned that perfection is not to fly in greatest speed possible. Since any number is a limit, so being perfect is being there with thought. Jonathan was an eager and talented student who puts on sheer perseverance to attain his goal. Finally as a result of his hard work he attains his destiny, the perfect flight. 9

When everyone fails to understand you don’t feel lonely, there is nothing more than knowing oneself...

10

Attain perfection thought shear perseverance.

11

When we truely realize that we are all alone is when we need others the most.

Jonathan wished to be a teacher so that he could give all the knowledge he had to others. He decided to go back to his flock, forgiving them and believing that one day they will know everything. They will realize the actual pleasure of flight and freedom of life instead of living an unknowable life. He just wanted to help them understand.

Forgiveness is the key of action and freedom..
