Economic empowerment is a very crucial topic to any country which holds the welfare of its citizens as very important and essential for the growth of the whole nation as well. Countries which do not hold economic empowerment as a priority do not prosper and usually they have an ending problems starting from food, unemployment, gender violence and many more. It’s therefore important that a nation empowers its women and youth for it to prosper and be a healthy nation.
Benefits of economic empowerment to citizens Food stability When women and youth are empowered economically, they are able to identify various agricultural projects which they can venture into and make a living out of it. This is very important because as they get cash from selling their farm produce they also have enough for their families. Due to this the nation will be able to reduce the rate of food shortages and the number of people who need food donations.
Economic stability Those people who have taken agriculture as a serious business and not just as a source of food have been able to make a lot of money out of it. Many have become millionaires through practicing agriculture at a larger level.
Reduced crime rate Many youth indulge in crimes because they are idle due to the issue of unemployment. When introduced to these agricultural and other economic empowerment programs they are able to be empowered. They will no longer have time to indulge in the heinous acts because they are busy and they are able to make money.
Economic growth When country’s youth and women are economically stable, the economy of the nation also grows because of the activities they get involved into be agriculture, businesses or Jua kali.

Gender equality A nation which is economically empowered observes gender equality both among men and women. In the past women have been sidelined by men in many things including occupying various positions in various jobs. We are glad that that is a thing of the past.
Fight for their rights Empowered citizens know their rights as citizens of a particular nation and no one can be able to intimidate them. They are able to stand against those men who tend to violate the rights of women across the country.
Have a voice When people are empowered they will be to get their views concerning certain matters affecting them. They will also be able to give meaningful contribution towards the success of their country and also on how to solve some issues the country could be facing.

The best thing about empowering people is that it would help them understand that having fewer and manageable children will help reduce the burden of taking care of many children. Economically empowered women have few children whom they can take good care of and even give them a better education. Economic empowerment is therefore very important especially if we want to see a society which is equal and can respect young women.
