By the Mediterranean sea, along its 120 km coast, the visitor is always surprised by the beauty of the mountains inside as well as by the special geography and cultural traditions that may be found in towns and villages. The visitor will find quite a lot of interesting villages and towns in the province. From the area of La Tinença de Benifassà, reached through paths and roads carved into the mountains, to the beautiful streets of Morella, where the magnificent organ in St. Mary’s Church is undoubtedly to be visited. The inside part of the province offers delicious, typical rabbit and veal dishes, soups, home made cakes and pastry and the typical flaons, a sweet dessert from the city of Morella. In Peñiscola one may enjoy excellent seafood cooked in a variety of dishes, -as well as a wide range of ricesafter or before visiting the castle, which used to be the home of Papa Luna, the only Pope to have lived in Spain. And if we talk about sport, in El Grao, Sant Jordi or Borriol there are magnificent golf courses, and water sports can be practised in any of the multiple facilities that villages on the coast offer the visitor. In Villafamés, an interesting visit is the Museum of Wine, and the Museo de Arte Contemporáneo. Health may be also taken care of: in Montanejos or Benasal, the visitor may drink from the fountains that have made both cities famous for the quality of their water.
