Climate Fiji has two seasons: warm and even warmer. It is a sunny, tropical climate that will wash the winter chills from your bones. That does not mean it never rains but you can expect May to November (the cooler months) to range from 19°C to 29°C and from December to April to range from 22°C to 33°C.
Clothing As Fiji offers a warm tropical climate, visitors only need to pack a light tropical wardrobe. Shorts, t-shirts and swimwear are a must. We recommend clients to be sun-smart and take a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen and a rashie. The national light cotton wrap called a Sulu can be used as a cover over swimwear for both women and men, and can be easily purchased during your stay. Smart casual attire is recommended for dinner. Health Asia Escape Holidays advises you to talk to your doctor prior to departure about recommended vaccinations or medications that you may require. If you become ill in Fiji, please seek advice from the hotel you are staying in. Passport & Visas Each person must carry a passport with a least 6 months validity from the date of arrival into Fiji. Australian passport holders do not require a visa prior to arrival into Fiji for stays up to 4 months. Alternatively please ask your travel agent for more information. Language English is the official language with Fijian and Hindustani also spoken. Currency The local currency in Fiji is the Fijian Dollar (FJD). Money can be changed at licensed currency exchanges, banks and hotels. Major credit cards are widely accepted. ATMs are also widely available throughout Fiji. Holidays & Special Days There are a number of public holidays and special days in Fiji. National days and Christian holidays remain the same each year and are similar to dates set within Australia. Fiji celebrates Fiji Day on the 10th October and the Indian Festival of Lights (Diwali) in October. Surcharges may apply at hotels and for certain flights during these times. GETTING AROUND
Getting around Fiji is very easy with a wide range of different transfer options to suit the varying locations of the resorts, either on the mainland or on the outer islands.
GROUND TRANSFERS (ON THE MAINLAND) We recommend you book transfers in advance between Nadi Airport and your accommodation. You will be met on arrival by our local representative from Tourism Transport Fiji, who will transfer you to your hotel. Tourism Transport Fiji offers seat-in-coach transfers, private car transfers, day tours and other transport assistance you may require during your stay in Fiji. Seat-in-coach transfers are scheduled minibuses or coaches; these depart once each flight has been cleared and they have pick-ups and drop-offs on the way. Private car transfers are in an air-conditioned vehicle which will take you directly to your chosen resort in comfort.
SOUTH SEA CRUISES Transfers to the Mamanuca Islands South Sea Cruises offer seamless, fast transfers to Mamanuca Island resorts for travellers staying in the islands. Visitors are transported from Nadi Airport, Nadi hotels and Denarau hotels to Denarau Marina, where they board modern catamarans to reach the islands. The vessels have multiple lounges, outside viewing decks and fully licensed bars, meaning you will feel on holiday, even before you reach your island escape. Resort connections depart Denarau Marina and island resorts several times a day, every day of the week. Island transfers depart 5 times per day from 9:00am to 3:15pm daily and service Treasure Island, Mana Island, Castaway Island, Malolo Island, Tokoriki Island and Matamanoa Island. MALOLO CAT Transfers to the Mamanuca Islands The Malolo Cat provides a high-speed catamaran boat service between Port Denarau and the resorts on Malolo Lailai Island, including Plantation Island Resort, Lomani Island Resort and Musket Cove. BOOKING CONDITIONS Please read the following booking conditions carefully. The conditions apply to all bookings made with Asia Escape Holidays. This brochure was released in February 2019 and is valid until further notice. All prices are to be used as a guide only. Please see your local travel agent for current holiday prices. BOOKING YOUR HOLIDAY Please see your preferred travel agent to have them arrange your Asia Escape Holidays package. Your travel agent accepts these booking conditions on your behalf. Your travel agent will also provide you with all the details and costs relating to your travel arrangements. If you are making your travel arrangements directly with Asia Escape Holidays, you are accepting these booking conditions in their entirety and constitute agreement between yourself and Asia Escape Holidays. These conditions cannot be varied or any part waived without the written consent of Asia Escape Holidays. All components of the travel arrangements are provided by suppliers which operate within standards laid down by local authorities and that we believe to be reputable. Bookings are subject to the terms and conditions and limitations of each supplier. Provided your booking has been made in accordance with the deposits and payments conditions set out below, your travel documents will be delivered to your travel agent. PRICES & ITINERARIES Any prices quoted in this brochure are based on the lowest room category in low season based on share twin accommodation and are correct at the time of printing. These prices should be used as a guide only and are subject to change without notice. Prices shown in this brochure do not include airfares, unless stated. Your travel agent will provide the current costs and itinerary details applicable at the time of booking. Bonus inclusions, rooms and bedding configurations are subject to change without notice. Compulsory meal charges may apply to bonus night offers at some hotels / resorts. Tours are based on a minimum of 2 persons travelling. DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS To secure your booking, a non-refundable deposit is required within 7 days of confirmation of your travel arrangements in accordance with the following general guidelines. Air, Hotel, Tour, Packages: deposit of $110PP (No deposit required for children 11 years & under) Final payment is due at least 60 days before departure Bookings Containing Cruises: deposit of minimum $400PP (depending on cruise operator) Final payment is due at least 60 days before departure. The above deadlines may vary due to additional conditions imposed by suppliers and/or airlines, for example advance purchase or instant purchase conditions will vary. For bookings made within 45 days of departure, full payment is required within 48 hours of confirmation. Asia Escape Holidays reserves the right to cancel reservations not paid by the previously mentioned due dates. LATE BOOKINGS Asia Escape Holidays reserves the right to charge a $30 late booking fee for bookings made within 7 days
of departure. A guarantee of payment may also be required prior to arrangements being requested. CANCELLATIONS, AMENDMENTS & REFUNDS In the event a passenger cancels their booking, all deposits paid are non-refundable. Airlines, hotels and tour operators may impose their own cancellation fees. These details will be advised to you by your travel agent in the event of a booking cancellation. No refunds or amendments can be made once travel has begun. First amendments made prior to payment in full will be free of charge. Any further amendments may incur a fee of $55 per change. Amendments after documents have been issued may not be possible or may be subject to fees imposed by airlines, hotels and other suppliers plus an amendment fee imposed by Asia Escape Holidays. Your travel agent will advise of any applicable fees. Flights and passenger details may not be changed once ticketed. Refunds for unused accommodation, tours or services may or may not be refunded by Asia Escape Holidays. Travel agents may impose their own fees in addition to those of Asia Escape Holidays. WHAT’S NOT INCLUDED IN THE PRICE? Passport and visa fees, excess baggage, insurance, phone calls, beverages and meals not detailed in your itinerary, tips, and all other items of a person nature. For some of the property facilities a nominal charge will apply. TRAVEL INSURANCE Asia Escape Holidays highly recommends travel insurance for all travellers. Please seek advice from your travel agent regarding applicable insurance cover. PASSPORTS, VISAS & VACCINATIONS Each person must have a current passport with at least 6 months validity beyond their stay. It is the responsibility of all passengers to ensure they have the applicable visa, passport and health documentation by checking with the applicable embassies or consulates. TRAVEL ADVISORIES These are issued by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and are available from your travel agent or by visiting smartraveller.gov.au These advisories should be checked regularly prior to your departure. BAGGAGE Your baggage allowance is governed by the relevant airline/cruise company conditions. Your travel agent will provide information relevant to your arrangements. HOTEL DESCRIPTIONS & LOCATIONS Descriptions featured are based on current international hotels’ guides and contractual agreements provided by the hotels and suppliers. Any facilities shown as included are subject to change at any time. Every effort is made to ensure the information provided is correct. Maps are not to scale and are provided as a guide to locations only. Hotel room images may not exactly match the actual room occupied. ROOMING Prices quoted in this brochure are based on twin occupancy. Single rooms may be requested however a supplement will be charged. Any special requests
should be made at the time of booking however any such requests are not guaranteed and are subject to availability at the time of check-in at the hotel. CHILD AGES The age specifications for children will vary based on seasonality and airline/hotel policies. Please check with our reservations staff at the time of booking. VARIATIONS If at any time there are circumstances beyond Asia Escape Holidays’ control that require Asia Escape Holidays to make changes to your travel arrangements, Asia Escape Holidays reserve the right to cancel or reschedule departures and itineraries. Where it is necessary to change a hotel, Asia Escape Holidays reserves the right to substitute accommodation of a similar standard or greater. RESPONSIBILITY Asia Escape Holidays acts as an agent only and accepts no responsibility for services provided by the airline, hotel, tour operator or any other service provider. By acceptance of vouchers and documents, the passenger agrees that Asia Escape Holidays is in no way responsible or liable for loss, injury, damage to person, property or otherwise in connection with any and all transportation, accommodation and/or services resulting directly or indirectly from acts of God, dangers incident to air, sea, fire, breakdown in machinery or equipment, acts of governments or other authorities de jure or de facto, wars, acts of terrorism, hostilities, civil disturbances, strikes, riots, thefts, epidemics, medical or customs regulations, delays or changes in itinerary/schedules for any loss or damage resulting from improper or insufficient passports, visas or other documents or from any other causes beyond the control of Asia Escape Holidays. CONSUMER CLAIMS Any claims should be lodged in writing to your travel agent with supporting documentation within 14 days of your return to Australia.
