Denver Takayama Sister City
Committee, and a member of the board of trustees for Historic Denver. He’s the author of “Being Japanese American,” a history of Japanese Americans, and is currently working on “Tabemasho! Shawn (he/him) is a reporter for KCNC-TV. Born and raised near Seattle, he has spent the past five years covering Colorado for CBS4 News. His reports cover a range of topics and issues including housing, education, restaurants, as well as the arts. He has been a member of the Asian

Kim (she/her) has been in the Colorado media business for more than 20 years, working behind the scenes, leading digital strategy for multiple media properties. Originally from California, she moved to Colorado to launch TheDenverChannel.com for KMGH-TV/ Denver7 in 2001. She is currently the Senior Director of Digital Platforms for Colorado Public Radio, where the mission is to deliver meaningful news, music, and cultural experiences to everyone in Colorado 69 using the power of the human voice in all its forms. Joe (he/him) is a digital sports strategist for The Denver Post. Born and raised in the Denver metro area, he spent more than a decade covering the AAPI communities for various publications, including Asian Avenue magazine, prior to joining the Post. He was also the president of the Asian American Journalists Association’s Denver chapter. He enjoys cooking and trying out new restaurants and breweries.
