Deborah (she/her) is one of the few Asian attorneys in Colorado who represents individuals in employment and civil rights cases. Almost all of her clients are women, people of color, and/ or immigrants who have been discriminated, harassed, or retaliated against in the workplace. As a former Assistant U.S. Attorney and seasoned litigator, Deborah has taken on multi-billion dollar corporations in the fight to obtain justice for her clients and to restore accountability to the workplace. As community outreach co-chair for the Asian Pacific American Bar Association, she established a free virtual legal hotline, free legal clinics, and other programs for Colorado’s Asian community. She is the founder of Kids Reading to Succeed, a literacy program for at-risk youth in LA, and is developing Kids Against Hate, a program empowering Colorado youth to stand up against hate, discrimination, and bullying. Margaret Choi

Being an immigration attorney in Colorado for over thirty years, Margaret (she/her) is convinced that anything is possible. Born in China and growing up in Hong Kong, she knows hard work breeds success. Her dream to help vulnerable immigrants came true when she became an immigration lawyer in the 1980s, then her desire to help promote Chinese, the social, political and economic well-being of Denver AAPI became a reality when she became the president of OCA Colorado in 2016. OCA hosts programs such as senior care, an education fund, vaccine clinic, 5K panda run, community picnic, and Asian 72 cultural events that touch many lives in the AAPI communities. Kenzo Kawanabe

Kenzo Kawanabe (he/him) is a fourth-generation Coloradan from the San Luis Valley, and a partner at Davis Graham & Stubbs LLP, one of Colorado’s oldest and largest law firms. Kenzo is a trial lawyer who represents clients in high stakes commercial matters, and he is deeply committed to community service. He served as President of the Colorado Asian Pacific American Bar Association, and was the first-ever General Counsel for the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association. Kenzo has also served on nonprofit and foundation boards including Colorado Legal Services, Denver Foundation, and Boettcher Foundation. He is a board member of Asian Americans Advancing Justice which nationally works on issues including battling hate incidents against Asian Americans.
