Films at the Gate 2014 Welcome Welcome to the 9th Annual Films at the Gate (FATG) brought to you by Asian Community Development Corporation (ACDC). This free outdoor film festival started in 2006 to reclaim underutilized lots in Chinatown. We quickly outgrew the lot and are still located at the Gate but in Chinatown Park on the Rose Kennedy Greenway. Here we transform a public space into an outdoor movie theatre with cultural arts performances for the enjoyment of residents, local businesses and movie lovers. Grab your dinner and late night snacks at one of the local businesses in Chinatown and the Leather or Theatre Districts. Return to Chinatown not only for Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Malaysian, Thai, and Vietnamese foods but also to experience the vibrancy and diversity of the neighborhood. Check out ACDC’s programs such as Asian Voices of Organized Youth for Community Empowerment (A-VOYCE), Chinatown Walking Tour or ACDC’s first-time homebuyer program (the only HUD-approved housing counseling program in New England offered in both Cantonese and Mandarin Chinese). Consider a membership to ACDC and join us at our Annual Dinner & Meeting on November 18, 2014 at Hei La Moon Restaurant. ACDC’s newest mixed income, mixed use development is One Greenway, a partnership between ACDC and New Boston Fund. It is currently under construction and will bring 363 units (40 % affordable) of desperately needed housing into Chinatown. Join our efforts to preserve and revitalize Chinatown. Please make a donation to support this event and ACDC’s programs. Drinks, popcorn and an exclusive Films at the Gate T-shirt are available for purchase while a donation box will be passed around during the event. Thank you for joining us tonight. Hope to see you again soon!

CHINATOWN WALKING TOUR
ACDC’s Chinatown Walking Tour is a perfect way to learn more about the culture and history of Boston Chinatown. It is one of our nation’s oldest residential Chinatowns. Learn about the people and community over the past 130 years. See landmarks and history in the making. A-VOYCE youth leaders serve as tour guides. The tours are one component of ACDC’s youth leadership curriculum. Tours are offered throughout the year and serve to dispel the myths about Chinatown and take you behind-the-scenes of this community. Consider adding a Chinatown dining experience. Schedule a tour to experience Chinatown beyond its gate and storefronts. Reserve your tour by contacting us at 617.482.2380 x204 or avoyce@asiancdc.org.
