In 1987, Asian activists and leaders founded ACDC in response to the needs of the Chinatown community. Today, ACDC is expanding its programs to meet the needs of a changing and diversifying Asian American community in Greater Boston. The needs of Asian communities are tremendous. One in three Asian households nationwide lives below the federal poverty level. Statistics show that Asian Americans lack access to adequate education, affordable housing, and healthcare. Asian groups also face linguistic isolation and barriers to job access. For 20 years, ACDC has been working with the Asian community of Greater Boston to address those needs and challenges. We are a growing organization that continues to develop affordable housing, promote economic development, foster new leadership, and build capacity within the community through education, advocacy, and action.
